On 25 December 1986 at 6:00 a.m Bangladeshi army personnel from the Dighinala cantonment rounded up Mr. Baribindu Chakma (38) son of Mr. Jatindra Lal Chakma of Sadhok Chara, Dighinala. Bangladesh army tied his hands and then severely beat him. Bangladesh army men laid him on the ground and kicked him like a football. They hammered his fingers. He was released after 8 and 1/2 hours of torture. He took refuge in Tripura state of India.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Dighinala

On 25 December 1986, Bangladesh army personnel from Dighinala Cantonment raided the indigenous Buddhist village Kamaku Chara in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

During the raid 80 indigenous Chakma Buddhists including men, women and children were arrested from the village. Bangladesh army took the indigenous victims to the Cantonment. Bangladesh army beat the arrested indigenous Chakma Buddhists enmasse on the road while being taken to the Dighinala Cantonment.
