Chakma Children of Mahalchari
On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Indigenous Chakma children took refuge at Balipara Primary School after their villages were burnt down by the Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 6 December 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Hazachara in Mohalchari led by Capt. Yusuf carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist people at West Manikchari village in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district.

During the operation, Bangladesh army rounded up indigenous Chakma Buddhists from their houses. Bangladesh army took them to a farm house belonging to Mr. Nirendra Chakma where they were severely beaten. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Dev Chakma (18 yrs), son of Mr. Virendra Chakma of West Manikchari, Mohalchari.
  2. Mr. Shyamol Mitra Chakma (26 yrs), son of Mr. Ratna Sen Chakma, address as above.
  3. Mr. Bor Choga Chakma (18 yrs), son of Mr. Mongol Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  4. Mr. Nivaron Chandra Chakma (30 yrs), son of Mr. Dino Mohan Chakma, address as above.
