On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Chakma boys in grief after the attack.

Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Buddhist people in Longadu

On 5 December 1986, Bangladesh army of 7 EBR from the army camp at Korolya Cheri, Longadu led by Major Abul Kalam Azad carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist villages Deno Longadu and Dadi Adam in Longadu, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army carried out the operation on the pretext of searching for the Shanti Bahini. During the operation many indigenous Buddhist men, women and children were subjected to inhuman beating, rape and torture.

9 indigenous persons including a girl from Deno Longadu were arrested, blindfolded, beaten and taken to the Police camp at Sonai, Longadu. The victims are:

1. Mr. Kamodev Chakma (65 yrs), son of late Chitra Kumar Chakma of Deno Longadu. Bangladesh army severely beat him in his home.
2. Mr. Laxmi Dhon Chakma (55 yrs), son of late Pavan Chandra Chakma of Deno Longudu, Longudu. He was arrested, blindfolded, beaten and taken to the Police Camp at Sonai where he was subjected to inhuman torture by the army personnel.
3. Mr. Prem Shanti Chakma (27 yrs), son of Mr. Laxmi Dhon Chakma, address as above.
4. Mr. Bhugol Kanti Chakma (28 yrs), son of Mr. Batya Chakma, address as above.
5. Mr. Lengera Chakma (18 yrs), son of Mr. Batya Chakma, address as above.
6. Mr. Raj Mongol Chakma (25 yrs), son of Mr. Ratna Kumar Chakma, address as above.
7. Mr. Durgo Mohan Chakma (60 yrs), address as above.
8. Mr. Borpeda Chakma (24 yrs), son of Mr. Durgo Mohan Chakma, address as above.
9. Miss. Sona Maya Chakma (16 yrs), daughter of Mr. Kamodev Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army raped her in her home and then took her to Police camp where Major Abul Kalam Azad raped her.
10. Mr. Ratri Mohan Chakma (40 yrs), son of Mr. Joyodrath Chakma of Dadi Adam, Longadu. Bangladesh army rounded him up from his home. Bangladesh army blindfolded and severely beat.

12. Mr. Amrita Lal Chakma (25 yrs), son of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above.
13. Mrs. Soh Pedi Chakma (35 yrs) wife of Mr. Ratri Mohsn Chakma address as above. Bangladesh army raped her in her home.
14. Mrs. Bhanu Moti Chakma, wife of Mr. Amrita Lal Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army personnel raped her in front of her husband.
15. Mrs. Vidya Mukhi Chakma (43 yrs), wife of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army personnel raped her in front of her husband.
16. Master Sona Lal Chakma (11 yrs), son of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above. The boy was inhumanly beaten by the army personnel in front of his parents.
17. Milly Chakma (8 yrs), dsughter of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above. She was also beaten as above.
18. Dibichya Pudi Chakma (6 yrs), daughter of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above. She was also beaten as above.
19. Morot Soh Chakma (3 yrs), son of Mr. Sadhon Kumar Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army personnel pulled the child away from his mother and inhumanly beat him in front of mother.
20. Modhumika Chakma (4 yrs), daughter of Mr. Dino Mohan Chakma of Dadi Adam, Longudu. She was pulled away from her mother and was beaten inhumanly by the army personnel in front of her mother.
21. Mr. Shashankho Chakma (35 yrs), son of Mr. Indrajoy Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten in his home.
22. Mrs. Sujala Chakma (31 yrs), wife of Mr. Shashankho Chakma, address as above. She was raped in her house while her husband was being beaten by the army personnel.
23. Chondika Chakma (12 yrs), daughter of Mr. Shashankho Chakma, address as above. She was beaten infront her parents by the soldiers.
24. Niharika Chakma (10 yrs), daughter of Mr. Shashankho Chakma, address as above. She was beaten infront her parents by the soldiers.
25. Master Bhuita Chakma (8 yrs), son of Mr. Sheshankho Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
26. Eltu Chakma (5 yrs), son of Mr. Shashankho Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
27. Biltu Chakma (3 yrs), son of Mr. Shashankho Cnakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
28. Mr. Surodhon Chakma (60 yrs), son of late Kandujya Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
29. Mr. Buddha Komol Chakma (26 yrs), son of Mr. Mojendra Chakma, address as above. He was blindfolded and severely beaten by the army personnel.
