Indigenous victims of Sajek Muslim attack
On 20 April 2008 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked and burnt down 76 indigenous Buddhist houses in Sajek. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhist villagers and grab their land. The indigenous Chakma Buddhists and their burnt down houses after the attack.

Bangladesh army terrorizes indigenous Bawm people in Bileichari

On 3 December 1986, Bangladesh army of 18 EBR from the army camp at Sung Sang led by Capt. Shafi carried out a military operation against the indigenous village Rilti Para of Reingkhyong in Bileichari, Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army beat the indigenous inhabitants and forcibly converted a Tripura person to Islam. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Lal Kup Bawm (50 yrs), son of late Salkuwal Bawm of Rilti Para Reingkhyong. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  2. Mr. Sim Lin Bawm (37 yrs), son of late Chunsette Bawm, address as above.
  3. Mr. King Nam Bawm (28 yrs), son of Mr. Jatanier Bawm, address as above.
  4. Mr. Ram Chuan Bawm (36 yrs), son of Mr. Tluang Bawm, address as above.
  5. Mr. Pamkup Bawm (22 yrs), son of Mr. Tlang Chom Bawm, address as above.
  6. Mr. Amiya Tripura (35 yrs), son of Mr. Virendra Tripura of Reingkhyong. Capt. Shafi converted him by force to Islam.
