On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Krajaima Marma (20) daughter of Chaihla Prue Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Bangladesh army torture and rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 28 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Betchari led by Major Sharif launched a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist people of Boda Nala and Pola U Para in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation, Bangladesh army tortured and raped indigenous Buddhist men and women. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Suresh Mohan Chakma, son of Mr. Kalachan Chakma of Boda Nala, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army rounded him up from his home, took to the army camp at Mohalchari and then severely beat him.
  2. Mr. Biraj Mohan Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army beat him as above.
  3. Mr. Kongjyo Hree Marma (40), of Pola U Para, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army rounded him up from his home, took him to the army camp at Mohalchari and tortured him for whole night.
  4. Mr. Ba U Marma (15), son of Mr. Hlu Prue Marma, address as above. Bangladesh army tortured him as above.
  5. Mr. Sa Thuai Marma (30), son of Mr. Ba Thuai Aung Marma, address as above. He was tortured as above.
  6. Miss. Anu Marma (14), address as above. Bangladesh army rounded her up, took to the army camp at Mohalchari and gang raped her.
