Buddhist monk picking up pieces after Naniachar attack

When whole country was celebrating the victory day of the country on 16 Dec 2014, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people in Bagachari area of Naniarchar to evict them from their traditional land. 50 indigenous houses, 7 shops and 1 Buddhist temple were destroyed.

Bangladesh army rob and destroy indigenous Buddhist homes in Rangamati

On 20 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 40 EBR from the army camp at Kudukchari led by Major Keramat Ali launched a military operation against the indigenous Chakma Buddhists of Sukor Chari Khamar Para in Rangamati. During the operation Bangladesh army robbed and destroyed indigenous Buddhist homes. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Batya Chakma (36), son of Mr. Kanyaram Chakma of Sukor Chari Khamar Para, Rangamati. Bangladesh army demolished his home.
  2. Mr. Ananda Kumar Chakma (42), son of Mr. Nalini Chakma, address as above. His house was demolished and 2 goats were robbed from him.
  3. Mr. Iron Dhon Chakma (65), address as above. His house was demolished end 1 goat was robbed from him.
  4. Mr. Krishna Komol Chakma (38), son of Mr. Iron Dhon Chakma, address as above. His house was demolished.
  5. Mr. Tarun Sen Chakma (28), son of Mr. Kanyaram Chakma, address as above.
  6. Mr. Bhadra Sen Chakma (37), son of Mr. Bhaza Chakma, address as above.
  7. Mr. Rana Komal Chakma (43), son of Mr. Iron Dhon Chakma, address as above.
  8. Mr. Koilasn Chandra Chakma (45), of Sukor Chari Khamar Para, Rangamati. His house was demolished by the army personnel.
  9. Mr. Kalya Chakma (50), address as above. As above.
  10. Mr. Kalaram Chakma (28), son of late Guna Charon Chakma, address as above. As above.
  11. Mr. Shanti Kumar Chakma (40), son of late Joy Moni Chakma, address as above. As above.
  12. Mr. Dinoram Chakma (48), son of late Jagat Dhar Chakma, address as above. 2 goats were robbed from him by the army personnel.
  13. Mr. Uridas Chakma (60), address as above. The army personnel robbed 4 pieces of bed cover from him.
  14. Mr. Suridas Chakma (57), address as above. As above.
  15. Mr. Bharadas Chakma (50), address as above. The army personnel robbed 3 pieces of bed cover from him.
