Jyoti Ranjan Chakma, victim of Muslim settler attack at Jaliapara
On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. At Jaliapara, the Muslim settlers stopped every vehicle and looked for indigenous people. Senior government official Jyoti Ranjan Chakma was taken off a bus and severely beaten up.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Hindu and Buddhist people in Panchari

On 17 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 19 EBR from the army camp at Nalkaba carried out a military operation against the indigenous people of Mono Para of Kuradia Chara in Panchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation Bangladesh army subjected many innocent persons to inhuman torture and severe beating. Bangladesh army personnel poured water through their noses and mouths. Bangladesh army beat the victims enmasse. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Subodh Chakma (49), of Mono Para, Kuradia Chara, Panchari.
  2. Mr. Dhala Tripura (35), address as above.
  3. Mr. Dharindra Tripura (30), son of Mr. Jatindra Tripura, address as above.
  4. Mr. Harendra Tripura (28), son of Mr. Jatin Kumar Tripura, address as above.
  5. Mr. Jatin Trinura (47), son of Mr. Bhuban Tripura, address as above.
  6. Mr. Pushpa Ram Tripura (36), son of Mr. Sarpa Moni Tripura, address as above.
  7. Mr. Joy Kumar Tripura (32), address as above.
