On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Dighinala

On 31 Oct. 1986, a group of 100 Bangladesh army personnel of 41 EBR arrested and tortured indigenous Buddhist inhabitants of Bacha Morong in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army severely tortured the indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Krishna Pratap Chakma (50), son of late Bobru Bahon Chakma of Bacha Morong, Dighinala.
  2. Mr. Kaboch Chandra Chakma (19), son of Mr. Krishna Pratab Chakma, adress as above.
  3. Mr. Jagdish Chandra Chakma (25), son of Mr. Hori Dhon Chakma, address as above.
  4. Mr. Helanto Chakma (26), son of Mr. Madanya Chakma, address as above.
  5. Mr. Sundajya Chakma (16), son of Mr. Hola Biza Chakma, address as above.
  6. Mr. Jeetendra Chakma (27), son of Mr. Bahon Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  7. Mr. Sadhguli Chakma (28), address as above.
  8. Mr. Jnana Ratan Chakma (60), son of Kahetra Mohan Chakma, addess as above.
  9. Mr. Sachi Mohan Chakma (19), son of Mr. Vayu Pagala Chakma, address as above.
