On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. Muslim settlers damaged and desecrated the Buddha images.

Bangladesh army and settlers terrorize indigenous people in Khagrachari and Rangamati

On 12 0ct. 1986, Muslim settlers of Roshik Nagor Para attacked indigenous Chakma Buddhists of Ghulchari village in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. Muslim settlers restorted to robbing indigenous people.

On 12 Oct. l986, Bangladesh army arrested Mr. Chitra Chakma (45) of Jogonatuli in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district and kept him in custody.

On 14 Oct. 1986, Bangladesh army arrested Mr. Sridham Chakma (35), son of Mr. Jur Chandra Chakma of Chongrachari, Banduk Bhanga Union in Rangamati district and kept him in custody.

On 15 Oct. 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Mohalchari led by Captain M.A. Helal arrested an indigenous Chakma Buddhist during a raid against Khyangsa Para in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Cidujya Chakma (21), son of Mr. Bhudo Chakma of Khyangsa Para, Mohalchari.

On 15 Oct. 1986, Bangladesh army arrested Mr. Golaram Chakma (40), son of Mr. Suresh Chandra Chakma of Lekyong Chara, Banduk Bhanga Union, Rangamati district and kept him in custody.
