On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Chakma boys in grief after the attack.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati

On 26 September 1986, Bangladesh army of 26 EBR carried out an operation against the indigenous Buddhist people of Mubachari village in Banduk Bhanga Union, Rangamati district. During the operation Bangladesh army personnel resorted to robbing and beating of indigenous Chakma Buddhists. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Bindu Lal Chakma (40), son of Mr. Peng Chan Chakma of Mubachari, Banduk Bhanga Union, Rangamati. He was arrested and severely beaten. Bangladesh army robbed Taka 1000.00 (One thousand Taka) and 3 quintals of paddy from him.
  2. Mr. Chanchal Chakma (30), son of Mr. Balaram Chakma, address as above. He was arrested and severely beaten. Bangladesh army robbed Taka 1500.00 (One thousand and five hundred Taka) from him.
  3. Mr. Bipuleshwar Chakma (28), son of Mr. Ramani Chakma, address as above. He was arrested and beaten. Bangladesh army robbed Taka 500.00 (Five hundred Taka) from him.
  4. Mr. Chandra Raj Chakma (26), son of Mr. Dhirasen Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army beat him and robbed Taka 1200.00 (One thousand and two hundred Taka) from him.
  5. Mr. Kripa Charan Chakma (37), son of Mr. Chandra Mohan Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army robbed Taka 1400.00 (One thousand and four hundred Taka) from him.
  6. Mr. Suresh Chandra Chakma (52), son of Mr. Mahendra Chandra Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army robbed Taka 1150.00 (One thousand, one hundred and fifty Taka) from him.
  7. Mr. Vriga Moni Chakma, son of Mr. Vrisha Ketu Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army robbed 6 quintals of paddy from him.
  8. Mr. Vrisha Ketu Chakma, son of Mr. Surojoy Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army robbed 8 quintals of paddy from him.
  9. Mr. Devendra Lal Chakma, (70), son of late Potya Ram Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army inhumanly beat him and robbed Taka 100.00 (One hundred Taka) and 6 quintals of paddy from him.
  10. Mr. Jnanendra Chakma (48), son of late Potya Ram Chakma, of Mubachari, Banduk Bhanga Union, Rangamati. He was severely beaten by the soldiers who also robbed Taka 65.00 (sixty five taka) and 4 quintals of paddy from him.
  11. Mr. Raj Kumar Chakma, son of Mr. Bhoirob Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the soldiers who also robbed 14 quintals of paddy from him.
  12. Mr. Nepal Chandra Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed Tk. 1200.00 (one thousand and two hundred taka) and 15 quintals of paddy from him.
  13. Mr. Chitra Moni Chakma, son of Mr. Vrisha Ketu Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed Tk. 200.00 (Two hundred taka) and 20 quintals of paddy from him.
  14. Mr. Ramani Chakma, son of Mr. Hok Chandra Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed away 8 quintals of paddy from him.
  15. Mr. Surya Chandra Chakma, son of Mr. Hok Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the soldiers who also robbed Tk. 1000.00 (One thousand taka) from him.
  16. Mr. Soshyo Chandra Chakma (44), son of late Potya Ram Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  17. Mr. Guno Sindhu Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  18. Miss. Niro Bala Chakma (20), daughter of Mr. Devendra Lal Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  19. Mrs. Renuka Bala Chakma (39), wife of Mr. Bindu Lal Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  20. Mrs. Chandra Shova Chakma (30), wife of Mr. Nepal Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  21. Mrs. Bono Shova Chakma (38), wife of Mr. Prabhat Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  22. Mrs. Unduri Chakma (45), wife of Mr. Ramani Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  23. Mrs. Padma Mukhi Chakma (68), wife of Mr. Raj Kumar Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
  24. Mrs. Natun Shova Chakma (25), address as above. He was severely beaten by the army personnel.
