On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 5 February 1986, Bangladesh army of 13 East Bengal Regiment from Silban Army Camp led by Lieutenant Juglul raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Adufa Para in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army tortured indigenous Buddhist inhabitants with merciless beating and water boarding for co-operation with the Jana Samhati Samiti. The victims are:

  1. Jatra Moni Chakma (30), son of Sona Charan Chakma of Adufa Para, Mohalchari.
  2. Kishto Charan Chakma (55), son of late Paranya Chakma of Adufa Para, Mohalchari,
  3. Mrs. Bandari Chakma (50), wife of Kishto Charan Chakma of Adufa Para, Mohalchari.
  4. Nishi Mohan Chakma (48) of Adufa Para, Mohalchari.
  5. Bar Peda Chakma (26), son of Alu Bukkya Chakma of Adufa Para, Mohalchari.
