Settlers argue with Buddhist monk
In August 2007, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers broke into the boundary of Sadhantila Buddhist Temple in Dighinala and began erecting houses inside the temple boundary. Here the settlers argue with resident Buddhist monk.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 5 February 1986, Bangladesh army of 13 East Bengal Regiment from Dumoni Ghat Army Camp led by Major Sharifuddin surrounded the indigenous Buddhist village Dhon Pata in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. Bangladesh army subjected indigenous Chakma Buddhists to torture, water boarding and severe beating for their co-operation with the Jana Samhati Samiti. The victims are:

  1. Jagat Mohan Chakma (60), son of late Bhulo Chakma of Dhon Pata, Mohalchari.
  2. Nila Padma Chakma (28), son of Saroda Mohan Chakma of Dhon Pata, Mohalchari.
  3. Ardhendu Bikash Chakma (38), son of late Allya Chakma of Dhon Pata, Mohalchari.
  4. Ittukya Chakma (22), son of Jagat Mohan Chakma of Dhon Pata, Mohalchari.
