On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army rob indigenous people in Naniachar

On l7 November l984, Bangladesh army of 305th Brigade from Thal Chara Camp raided indigenous people of Chillonya Para in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the raid, Bangladesh army robbed indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Dayal Chandra Chakma (50) of Chillonya Para in Naniachar. BD army took away 5 fowls and 1 goat by force.
  2. Mr. Subilash Chandra Talukder (46) of Chillonya Para in Naniachar. BD army robbed 4 fowls and 1 wrist watch.
