In May 1986, Bangladesh army personnel gang raped Mrs. Subodhini Tripura (25) wife of Mr. Tripura of Rambabu Dheba, Matiranga and then attacked her with knife. She took refuge at Tripura state of India with her family. This photo was taken at refugee camp in Tripura, India.

Bangladesh army rape indigenous Buddhist women in Naniachar

On 19 April 1984 at 5 a.m., Bangladesh army of the Naniachar Army Camp raided indigenous Buddhist villagers of Jagonatuli in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the raid, Bangladesh army raped and abducted numerous indigenous Buddhist women:

  1. Bangladesh army raided the home of Mrs. Proti Bala Chakma (28), entered her bedroom and raped her. Bangladesh army took her away to the army camp leaving her two children at home. She was forced to sleep with the camp commander.
  2. Bangladesh army attacked the home of Mrs. Banashree Chakma (26), raped her and took her away to the army camp.
  3. Bangladesh army launched an attack on the home of Mrs. Shanti Devi Chakma (25), raped her and took her away to the camp. She was raped, tortured and kept without clothes for 4 days.
  4. Bangladesh army raided the home of Mrs. Niharika Chakma (25), raped her in front of her husband, father and mother-in-laws. Bangladesh army took her away to the army camp where she was subjected to further rape and physical torture.
  5. Bangladesh army attacked the home of Mrs. Kanti Devi Chakma (21), entered her bedroom, woke up her husband with kicks and blows and raped her.
