Progress in Post Falls

3-11-06 They are starting to build the future downtown Post Falls, ID. The new center will have residential, commercial a market place... etc. This is taken from the bridge above the dam this morning. It will be good for Post Falls. I have mixed feelings about it though. Not so much about this particular project. But development around this area in general. I'm worried, as I hike around, that soon access to all of the good places around here will be limited to the rich. Most of the natives here are not rich. I know that is what public places are for, but there was a time not long ago when you could hike or bike in many places up and down the river and not run into fences and "no trespassing" signs.

Whitey's new puppy

Yes, we got a new puppy for Christmas. I'm not a big pet lover, but our little girl asked for a dog and this little guy makes a good addition to the family. So if you find a little dog hair in your hot sauce... I got him from a family in Plummer, ID. He is part mini schnauzer and part pomeranian. Did I spell those right?

Fall Report
Topic: Whitey's
I haven't had time to blog this summer. I'm working myself into an early grave. I plan on blogging up coming events where we will be selling our products. The pepper harvest went well. I have pictures from over the summer I'll try to put up. We have been making hot sauce so we are currently selling Green Label, Yellow Label and Private Reserve. We are out of the plain red label. We'll make some within next month or so.

Peppers Are In The Ground
Mood:  a-ok
We have around seven hundred pepper plants in the ground! We are setting up drip systems now. Production should be good this fall. It's just a few months away. I got our little Mantis running so now I can till in between the rows of peppers. A man and his tiller is a beautiful thing. We'll put some photos up after the major work is done.

Peppers have been started!
Topic: Whitey's
We started our peppers today for 2005. We planted a total of 1021 plants which seems like alot but isn't alot for a pepper farmer. It is more than we've done in the past but I'm sure it will be more in the future. We ask that you would pray for our water situation this year. It is not looking good. There is next to zero snow pack in the mountains around here.

Whitey's Moved to Post Falls
Topic: Whitey's
Whitey's home office has moved to Post Falls, ID. We took the opportunity to grab a bigger lot which means more peppers which means more hot sauce. I have a few customers mad at us because our stock is low this time of year due to the lack of FRESH peppers. So with mixed feelings we packed up and moved to Post Falls.
It turns out that it will be a few weeks before we get a new toll free number. Thanks for bearing with us.

Topic: Religion
The following is part of an entry from the blog at www.aomin.org. It is so to the point that I had to put it up here. It is like butter on my dried up cracking soul...

Col. 3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Those who have not been forgiven find it impossible to forgive. The power that allows us to truly forgive is the same power that has brought us forgiveness. This is one reason why the sticky sentimentality of so much of modern evangelicalism really robs believers of the true power of the Christian faith: we can truly forgive others because we see the cross not as the Big Failure where God tries and fails in so many cases, but for what it truly is. We can see it in its fulness: that place where justice, holiness, wrath, mercy, grace, and love all come together in that one glorious place and time, meeting, and being resolved perfectly, in the Incarnate Son. The Bald Eagles are visiting Wolf Lodge Bay on Coeur d'ALene Lake. They migrate here while the Kokanee are running up Wolf Lodge Creek. I took the family here on Saturday 1-8-05 and we saw a number of them but didn't get any good pictures. This is looking west from the bay.
