The Former Policy on Advertising is Now Missing From the Board Rules

Someone started a thread in miscellaneous today advertising something he was selling on EBay. In the past we have had a policy against this.The diligent AdAstra asked my advice on this, and I was surprised to find out there is nothing in the board rules about it. Any clarification? ------------------

If you'll recall, I went through some conflict in TOS because I don't allow it there. I got told in response by Capt. James Quirk that it goes on all the time elsewhere, but frankly, I've never really seen it. Personally, I'd object to advertising one's ebay auctions here in TrekBBS.

I think i've brought this up before (so many things to bitch about  ). It's not in the rules, but it is in the disclaimer. quote:

Wouldn't it be better to have an actual list? That way if someone has a bad day with the dog or something, then she'll be sure to remember all the little things that need doing. Or better yet, post your list in here so that we can update it for you and make sure everything gets put in?
