"Moment of Silence" thread in Misc.
      #356241 - 2002/09/11 02:48 AM

After consulting with T'Bonz, I'm starting an official "moment of silence" / "TrekBBS remembers 9/11" thread in Miscellaneous.

http://www.trekbbs.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/023384.html

In the opening post, I'm asking that users do not post more than once in the thread (as it's not intended to be spam), as well as asking that users turn off their signature to speed up load time.

I would please ask that the Misc. mods allow this thread to remain open past 100 posts.

Thank you.

I'll let it run

Where did you get the idea, btw? It's a nice gesture - I saw it on several other boards today. Just wondered whether we were the first

Well, I remember that a similar thread ran last year on Sept. 11.

I figured that we might as well make it a tradition.

We did it last year .

In fact, I've seen it on a number of occasions

Funny, I don't honestly remember it, although I don't think I was near a computer this time last year (and didn't discover Misc until about Christmas! )

I don't think we did it in Misc. I think for some odd reason, it started somewhere else.

Well, of course there is also the obligatory "America deserved it" thread, as a counter argument and nastiness sink, wicking away most of the uglies from the "Moment of Silence" thread.

Wonderful, just frickin wonderful.
