MySQL was having fits over the sheer number of querys... up to over 50 a second. I've given things a few swift kicks in the ass, so it should be OK for the rest of the evening.

I wasn't getting any error messages, but response time was much slower than usual. Is this somethign that we can expect to happen in the future?
