I'm not sure about this. [GTD mods/Lisa/Christian]

In this thread, John Sullivan talks about the shuttle disaster, and his own personal connections with it. I would have transferred the thread to Miscellaneous because of the content of the first post - but the second post changes the dynamic somewhat. Basically, he says he is going to leave, and does it with this:
Quote:
and hopefully after we get through all of this, the TREK BBS will be a little less intrusive on webpage history social engineering and cookie espionage.
Yes, Christian, you may send $300 to P.O. Box 11656 Pensacola FL 32524-1656 ... this new board is crap, and I do indeed withdraw my support of it, based on the new difficulties in evading hacker's dreams to include the new impossibility to even post with a firewall on.
When I get back to Pensacola, I hope to see the check in the mail.
So, what should I - (or another GTD moderator, or an admin - since I'm going offline in an hour or two) - do? Should I lock the thread temporarily, even though it is unlikely that it will be responded to on a slow Saturday morning?

Perhaps a comment that he can email Christian with his concerns and then close the thread? I am not as familiar with the dynamic in GTD, as to what works best and what does not.
Don't quite understand what be got in his bonnet, though.

John Sullivan is constantly rambling on about something or other that doesn't belong in the GTD forum. I've personally moved or closed plenty of threads from him in GTD, when I was in there. I'd close it with a comment like Neroon suggested.

Looks like Enterpriser has rendered the discussion academic. He moved it to QSF, whihc may or may not be the correct move. Sullivan's comments were directed to Christian who is no longer on staff here and probably never checks the board.

And Vert closed it. Never mind, then.

I wouldn't pay any attention to Sullivan. His posts are little more than long rambling discourses that bear little or no resemblance to the topic at hand. You can always count on a few things in his posts - name-dropping at every opportunity, use of his so-called production company's name, and discussion about his own personal life.
Oy.

Both incorrect assumptions
I'm actually surprised John Sullivan hasn't emailed me about this. He usually CCs me on pretty much any Trek-related mail he sends to pretty much anyone, it seems, so you'd think he'd also be able to email me directly if he actually had something to say to me.

Honestly, I didn't think you did anything at all staffwise anymore.
