^Actually, I'm with Aatrek, and I've stated this theory before in here. Baba started that Ezri thread a while back and proceeded to use it to do nothing but argue with hammer. They're always on at the same time (when hammer isn't banned that is), following each other around bugging each other.....it's just a little odd.
But I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

I don't really find it all THAT disturbing. It's simply a way to convince other people that a certain username is not a dual. It's more or less designed to fabricate "evidence", if oyu will. If one ID is a dual to the other, then one of them can get in trouble and be banned for a period of time, while the other is still free to roam.

Folks, let's not so quickly forget that one of the sources of problems at Slipstream was all of the ridiculing and bad-mouthing of regular members. I know, I know..... the threads were stolen but still bears remembering that if this stuff ever does get out we could have some of the same fallout here. If you have discussion about an individual poster, by all means that is part of what the BR is for. Just try to leave the mocking outside.

I have to agree. It's best to be as professional as we can and not diss folks.
It's hard sometimes when someone irks the hell out of you, but it is easier with practice.

^ That said, remember this isn't supposed to be a tea party in here either.
The primary function of the BR is for the staff to talk to each other and address board wide issues, get advice from each other, make sure we're all on the same page.
Secondary function is to discuss broader board issues (general direction of the board, suggestions for upgrades to software/rule/etc).
Tertiary function is to act as a pressure valve release for the staff. Rather than yelling at someone in a thread closure or a MA thread, yell at them in here. If you need to hang out and just b/s with some other Mods about nothing at all, then hijack an otherwise needless thread in here and do it. We'd prefer that to doing so in any of the lounges or QSF.
And blowing off steam will sometimes include some flaming of some members. We've all done it. In moderation (pun intended) it's fine. But I think we need to be careful not to get carried away. Like we remind the members, it's just a Trek Board, no one here is worth getting too upset over. Some flames here and there are not a problem. We've had leaks before and some people I guess have had their feelings hurt. Oh, well.
The problem is when things get carried away in here and then we get carried away out there. Personally, I believe the people in here are above that and wouldn't get into that kind of (Slipstream type) trouble.
It's just something to keep in mind. We don't want to chill the atmosphere in here. Just keep things in perspective.

As Charles said, I dont think they're the same people. Hammer followed his usual pattern of trying to get several duals past the registration process any time he gets banned.

I think most of us were convinced very early on that this was a dual and pretty sure of whom. Point is convincing the ones who can do anything about it. If it's an honest-to-goodness dual, we either ban it or permanently lock the others and let "baba" persist.

Must be someone who knows him very well, since Kesprytt hasn't been around for ages and BONC dropped more or less out of sight a while back. Hammer was the only one to keep mentioning it.
Even if it isn't hammer, it must be a dual, so why not just ban anyway?
Edit: Re T'Baio - he never posts in the lounges, hammer did and baba has been doing the same, so I'd incline away from it being T'Baio.

A just got a stroke of sheer genius.... since they seem to go back and forth all the time, add both to your address book at the "my home" page.. if both are online at the same time, then they can't be duals.... but if this guy is actually logging out and logging back in as baba/hammer, then we should all pitch in and get him the help he needs...

Again (assuming for the moment they're the same), my problem is that if he used a dual to post while on a one-month ban, doesn't that defeat the purpose of banning? Do we ban just the ID, or the person behind it? If the result of his warnings was that he was not allowed to post for a month, he should serve his time IMHO. If not, then we should toss the whole system. Just create a new nickname and continue...???
