I've decided that on Friday night, I'm going to drive home to Chicago. Not sure why, but it's probably just due to loneliness. Not having friends on campus kinda sucks.  I'll be back Sunday afternoon.

I can empathize with you JKTim. My first year and a half in college were much like that, with me looking chances to go home quite often. It evened out eventually, though.

Actually, mine was too. I was miserable until halfway through sophomore year, and then I loved it.

^ It was...interesting, I guess. Somewhat relaxing, but stressful at the same time.
I went home on a mission of soul-searching, contemplation, and reflection...but I think I might have come back with more questions and fewer answers than when I left.

I read your posts before the weekend and was hoping you would have a nice time in more familiar surroundings. I know what it's like to be in a new place without many people you can trust around you...so I could relate to your desire to go home for a weekend.
