MARSHALL LAW - “MARSHALL LAW” (1984/HEARTLAND RECORDS/USA)

Not to be confused with the legendary NWOBHM band of the same name, because this outfit came out of Indiana, USA and released an album in 1984, which musically sounded very strong. MARSHALL LAW played pure AOR/Melodic Rock like a mix between JOURNEY and TRIUMPH. The band's lead singer Craig Watson sounded like a perfect cross between STEVE PERRY and RIK EMMETT. Searching the net I found out he still sings in a band, now with Christian lyrics, but musically still AOR based. Anyway, this 1984 LP Craig recorded with MARSHALL LAW is a fantastic strong AOR/Melodic Rock record.

Opener "Love is a hunter who never sleeps" is a superb AOR rocker with a chorus that sounds like JOURNEY at their best, in the "Seperate ways" style, so this is one of those must-have AOR songs if you're a dedicated AOR freak, and actually the whole album goes like this, with many more fantastic AOR/Melodic Rockers such as "Once with passion", "Lyla run", Bring on the night" and "Crossroads at night".

This is one of those albums you must own, especially if you also purchased rare 80s AOR records by RATHSKELLER, PASSENGER, NIGHTWORK, THE HEAT... If you don't own any of these albums, I can inform you that all JOURNEY fans will love this record, as this MARSHALL LAW release from 1984 is basically a superb Classic AOR record!
