to the wonderful and sometimes wierd world of poetry!
| In this fabulous, freaky and knock-you-off-your-feet world, we have found peace with life...through poetic verse and the cultivation of a deep appreciation for artistic beauty...we have found our way. This is our forum, a place we can relax, let our hair down and enjoy the talents of others while we showcase our own. The world's most fabulous artists looked deep within themselves during a time of strict, puritanical convention before they dared unleash the calling of their artistic souls. By the amount of art produced, we can see that the calling of the inner artistic soul won the struggle between staying true to themselves and the fear of harming their social positions and becoming outcasts. In a politically correct world, no artist can belong, an artist is slave to the raw, inner yearning of creativity and it must be able to emerge in its entirety. Art cannot be confined to a correctness, if so, it simply isn't art, it is an ad campaign. Unharnessed creativity is as beautiful as it is liberating, and nakedness is a very popular subject in art. Nakedness is a thing of beauty, a work of art unto itself, it's no wonder the early artist's soul craved to reproduce it among the amazing images of their imaginations. And here we are, in nakedness, baring the very flesh of our souls through our verse, our brush, and we present to you our "naked" art, a truly passionate engagement which we understand as our calling, without the freedom to express we would be imprisoned within the dank, dungeon-like corners of our inner selves, a truly cruel fate. Read among these pages and think of it as a stroll down a garden path, some flowers you will see as magnificent in their incarnate beauty, and others you may regard as hideous. However the flowers of this garden strike you, they are, the products of that creative compulsion, that need one could only understand if deep within themselves resides the soul of an artist. In that soul we live, in that soul we live to create, in that soul we share. And in understanding that soul and in support of the creative endeavor, SierraStuff advocates free creative expression, however it may emerge. Peace and tranquility to you, as you find your way in life, but here...now, we offer you our gift, the fruit of the creative soul. |
