When words escape you...

Nadine Galinsky:  A Bio

My grandmother was a seamstress who worked out of her home.  Her customers knew they would receive personal attention when they came to see her, and she never failed to make them feel special.  I strive to maintain that intimate touch in all of my work.

I have held administrative positions through most of my career and yet somehow, whenever there was writing to be done, I was called upon to do it.  That included everything from correspondence to how-to manuals.

In 1999 I founded Gal In Sky Publishing and published When a Grandchild Dies:  What to Do, What to Say, How to CopeMarketing a book on a shoestring leads to other writing:  news releases, articles, and speeches, for example.  Because of the difficult subject matter of this book, my writing and promotion has had to be carefully crafted to get my book beyond decision-makers who are "freaked out" by it and to those who truly need it.

That same year I edited Joy-Full Holistic Remedies:  How to Experience Your Natural Ability to Heal, by Georgie Holbrook.  Ms. Holbrook submitted Joy-Full to the Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards, where she received the highest marks possible for the writing and organization of the book.

Since then I've written short stories, essays, and poetry, while continuing to write on the job.  Recently I completed a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, at Eastern Oregon University with a concentration in writing and rhetoric.

I maintain a regular creative writing practice and am writing my first novel.
