This site pays homage to the many crazy projects I've started, and for the most part not finished. More about me here. A Tesla coil is an air-core resonant transformer that is capable of really high voltage output. We're talking, like, millions of volts. Compare that to high voltage power lines, about 350,000 volts, and you can see why a Tesla coil would be a cool thing to have in the garage.
Like the thought of hurling various objects through the air at a high velocity. Me too! The trebuchet is a middle-age siege weapon used for tossing boulders, dead animals and people at enemy castles. Today they are mainly in service as pumpkins throwers. You might think "catapult" when you see a one but a trebuchet is so much more. It's a "catapult-plus".
The fun factor of this project is pretty self explanatory.
