SOLDIER "Murderous Night" 7'' Killer Metal
In case you had a doubt, SOLDIER is definitely back ! But it seems Ian Astrop left the band as the drums are played by Steve Hamper. This single (in red  vinyl !) is coming on german label Killer Metal and is an appetizer for the coming album "Sins Of The Warrior" to be released by british label Heavy Metal. Side A is "Murderous Night". The song is heavy and threatening, good but not an highlight. On side B, there is the killer "I'm Taken In" which was re-recorded and which is the highlight of this single, although I prefer the 2003 version. At least, we are sure SOLDIER is going to release a good metal album !

SOLDIER "Heavy Metal Force" CD Hellion (Brazil)
More SOLDIER music ! This cd contains old material from the eighties. The first part is the two mindblowing songs "Sheralee" and "Force" of the 1982 single. Surprisingly, there is not "Storm Of Steel" which was recorded for the Heavy Metal Heroes compilation. The second part is an early three song demo with "Silver Screen Teaser", "For You" and the fantastic "Magician". The third part are seven songs recorded live and taken from the "Live Forces" 1983 tape. The set list includes "Fire In My Heart", "Lost In Time", "Making A Stand", "Man From Berlin", "Lost And Found", "Bad To Good", "Infantrycide", and each of them sounds killer on stage. Jewels like "Magician", "Making A Stand", "Man From Berlin" or "Lost And Found", in my opinion, deserve to be officially recorded on an album. To end the cd, there is a new song recorded in 2003, "I'm Taken In" and it's a powerful and devastating anthem ! To conclude, just first class nwobhm on this cd !

SOLDIER "Infantrycide" MCD Hellion (Brazil)
SOLDIER is back and with the original line-up (Phillips / Barlow / Dick / Astrop) ! They offer four songs which are an official recording of old demo tracks. The opener "Infantrycide" is really heavy, what a great hammer ! After this storm, it's time for effective and hard rockin' tunes with "Come On Down" and "Silver Screen Teaser". To finish, it's "Paradox" which begins like a ballad but quickly turns into a brilliant strong rocker ! The songs were written in the eighties, but nothing sounds old here, as SOLDIER's metal has kept its freshness and energy. And as the magic is still here, let's dare to hope a new full album with the same quality ! This mcd is absolutely recommended !
