        'Canes have the advantage
The Carolina Hurricanes have momentum and home-ice advantage on their side. That's where the Montreal Canadiens stood one game ago. Either Carolina or Montreal will be pushed to the brink of elimination after Game 5 of their semifinal series (in progress, ESPN2, CBC). In later action, the Ottawa Senators look to close out their series with the Toronto Maple Leafs in their Game 6 matchup later this evening at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2, CBC). ...more

Tucker Gone For Playoffs

After suffering a broken bone in his shoulder blade and a dislocated left shoulder, Darcy Tucker will not play as the Leafs try to avoid elimination in Ottawa on Sunday night (7 pm, CBC, ESPN). Toronto will likely play Bob Wren or Don MacLean will play in his place.

LEAFS GOALTENDING – It's almost becoming too obvious to mention, but for the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup they need Curtis Joseph at his best, injured hand or not. He accomplished his goal of playing one game before the playoffs and looked good in a 5-2 road win over the Pens.

If Cujo can't go, Corey Schwab will be ready to step in. The 31-year-old backup goalie kept the Leafs in the hunt for first in the Eastern Conference in Joseph's absence, playing the best hockey of his career. He calmly handled all the attention that was suddenly thrust on him and he could do it again if called upon.

Pat Quinn avoided a goaltender controversy when late-season acquisition Tom Barrasso hurt his hand. He will be out indefinitely. Chances are Schwab would have been the guy to replace Joseph but Barrasso still could get back in a Leafs uniform if they go deep. Stranger things have happened.
