Next add a new layer and we're going to make sheer sleeves for the gown. Using your lasso tool once again, draw the outline of the sleeves.
Then flood fill it with black also. Now to make the sleeves sheer, you need to lower the opacity on this layer. On your layer palette, move the slider down until it is as sheer as you want it. I set mine at 44. Then you can merge your layers.
You can stop here or you can decorate it a little. I added a tad of shading around the bottom of the sleeves. I also added a corset. To do this: Add a new layer, of course. :) Get use to doing this because you'll do it a lot. Then draw in the corset outline from just beneath the breasts down to the waistline. I'm using red shades, so I used the lightest shade to draw the main layer for the corset. You'll see why later.
Add a new layer and we're going to do some shading. Using your darkest color, draw around the outer edges of the corset. Then you use the next shade and add a few lines of that color, and finally the brightest red or 3rd color. This leaves the light center of the corset visible for the laces to be drawn on. See image.
Add a new layer and draw in the laces. These are no more than just dots in a certain pattern...see image.
Next I drew in some decorations on the corset. Nothing fancy. Merge your layers, and your corset is finished.
For these last finishing touches, please see the finished image at bottom to compare it. Now, let's add some flowers, lace whatever you want. Here's a pic of the flowers close up. Just a few simple dots.
I also added some arm bands, a necklace, (see image) and I erased her feet. lol. She's tall enough without them, don't you think? :) I evened out anything that needed it. Blended the hair around the clothes. Straightened the dress line etc. Just normal finishing touches.
and last, I added lace. Just white squiggles with a few light gray dots. (See image.)
And now, go up to layers and "Merge Visible". If you're using a background layer like I did...the gray....don't merge this with it. Turn that layer off for now. And we are finished, and this is the finished product.
