this band had a similiar gay stance as JOBRIATH who was another u.s. glam rocker ( see page 28 for reviews ) just for the record we don' t care what they were or 'are' we just review the music here, and for the record the guys who run this site are straight.......well now Another Pretty Face had an lp in ' 73 and were from Pennsylvania, dressed in outrageous costumes and played glam rock in a style similiar to BOWIE, JOBRIATH, etc, one song sounds uncannily like STEVE HARLEY though.......

the lead track off the lp begins with beautifully played keyboaards in a futuristic style reaching far beyond the 70s.... ( 'u sun come dancing ).......U BABES BEGIN YOUR WAIL ...SEA GODDESS IS FUNNY, DO U REMEEMBER THE PLANET EARTH' ? .....complete with BOWIE guitar.......

a slow low key number that sounds very suspiciously like COCKNEY REBEL, but wait A.P.F. released this lp probably before HARLEY and Co released their first lp right ? hhhhmmmm.......' COOL glam with emphasis on the keyboards and some Interesting lyrics.......' HERE WE GO, I WAS BORN THE ORIGINAL WILD CHILD, I GOT A SPRING THING, MAKES ME MOVE , I LIKE TO PULL THE KEYS OF SPIDERS, I PULLED TO GRAVE RIGHT OUT OF THE GRAVE, THEY TOLD ME I'D NEVER COME OUT, AND NOW I'M SO FAR OUT I'M IN ' :)

now where did they get that title ? well we suspect it could have been influnced by the name of the band who went by THE GIANT JELLYBEAN COPOUT who did the wonderful pop-psych number 'AWAKE IN A DREAM' ( see page 13 ) but what do we know ?....just kidding......actually come to think of it this is a cool title, conjures up images of WILLY WONKA to say the least..........for the finale the band comes up with a very good, no we'll say GREAT number , in a BOWIE/JOBRIATH mold.......'AMERICAS CARS COULD KILL THE STARS, AMERICA MAKES GREAT CANDY BARS, AMERICA SAILS THEIR SHIPS TO MARS, AMERICAN DAYS CRAMP INTO HOURS, AMERICA CRIES...............BUT AMERICA CAN' T SEE THRU MY EYES'......
well judging from lyrical content, outrageous image it's not hard to understand how this u.s. glam band ( from the MIDWEST ! )could not gather more than a cult following at the time like JOBRIATH did around the same time, so go ahead and order your copy today at this link, you'll be glad u did -

(1) Thomas E. Mason was charged with robbing the Fortress Bank in Winona, Minn., in June; he was arrested nearby and identified by bank employees, but the main evidence against him was the threatening holdup note, which began, cheerfully, "Hi, I'm Thomas Mason."

In February, a Judicial Conduct Board in Pittsburgh filed charges against District Judge Ernest Marraccini, who apparently was upset one day at having to sit as a substitute traffic judge. ("Well, I'm not spending the day here," he allegedly said in court.) To the 30 people waiting to appeal their tickets, Marraccini reportedly said, "Well, then, let's just find everybody not guilty!" judging from their picture sleeve one could say that this band were a rock band who at the time made at least this glam rock single, don't know much about them other than they were from Italy and on the Fontana label, whatever the case this song 'ANNABELLA' could be considered part of the junkshopglam genre.....sounding like a scarier version of the GLITTER BAND with Gary Glitter styled vocals and that scream/chanting in the background.......'BA,BA,BA,BA.....GET OUT OF MY WAY, GET OUT OF MY WAY.........YOUR GONNA GET IT TONIGHT, GONNA GET IT TONIGHT, ALL U GET OUT OF MY SIGHT, AHHHHHHH !! '...........campy to say the least and like a lot of this lost 70s music this band were sure is long forgotten, but what a Great name eh ?
