A Twentysomething Journal:
Equanimity
by Ayrrichelle Aday

relaxingwithyou.jpg
Equanimity: a calmness when facing difficult situations. There have been a lot of changes to the look of my journal for 2002. The name, the look, the feel, the writing, and the experience is all new. Delve deep into my world and discover what it is like to live one day in the shoes of Generation X.

Entry for October 2002
Gilmore 'Gag Me With A Spoon'

So... last night I was trying to watch Gilmore Girls and really could not get into it. I had heard it was a good show and nothing really good was on so I said, "What the hay!" I turn it to the WB and suddenly find myself thinking, "Why in the world would anyone like this show?" Not to dis the Gilmore Girls and all but... it sucked. It wasn't the storyline that was giving me the urge to give it a thumbs down, it was the acting. It seemed more like banter and quick oneliners. As I watched in horror, I felt very stand-offish by the whole show. Their conversations can only be discribed as 'chirpy sometimes witty/sometimes cynical banter'. I didn't like that style of acting at all. It makes me think that a bunch of school cheerleaders got together and created this show. I was so waiting for the "Oh my goshhhhh!" and the nasaly "No you dit-nt..." to burst on the scene.

Thumbs Down for Gilmore Girls.

However, speaking of something I do love...the new Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow song is really good. It sounds like rockers making fun of a good country song. I don't care much for country music myself but I may make an exception in this case. The chorus is really catchy and I have caught myself in the middle of "I found your picture today, I swear I've changed my ways, I just wanted to say I love you, come back home..." several times. If you haven't checked it out... you should.

More inside.

Equanimity can be found in its entirety here. There you can find current and recently posted entries.
