by Jennifer Martin

1911.jpg
It has been one year since we saw the terror in New York City. Now, more than ever, we must unite as a nation, without discrimination based on color, culture, or ethnicity. We must stand strong and band together.

Politics As Usual?
by Susan Hollis

This year's campaign season might not possess the same sense of dramatic flair as the 2000 election, with it's endless recounts and last minute Supreme Court rulings, but it is shaping up to be at least entertaining. With Republicans and Democrats fighting for control of Congress, some races have turned competitive and even bitter, while others are just downright bizarre. 2002 may not have the excitement of a presidential election year, but there are still several intriguing races worthy of our attention.

Marriage is a big deal and should be taken very seriously. Taking time out of your whirlwind romance to find out just what kinda skeletons he or she may be hiding most assuredly will help you make that final decision before saying ‘I do.' Some skeletons can be over looked, swept under the carpet, and yes, even forgiven. But your soon to be spouse may be hiding something that will affect your marriage in the future. It is better to find out now than later.

Bye, Bye, Beta
by Jayne Denker

1Septvcr.jpg
Ah, it seemed only yesterday that the boat anchor of home entertainment, the beta machine, ruled in our living rooms. Beta was the first equipment that allowed us to watch movies whenever we wanted at home--without waiting for them to be broadcast on TV! It was a revolution in entertainment . . . and now it's over.

Do you live in a mountainous or somewhat remote area, or an area with a lot of crazy weather? Is your house on top of a very steep hill? Do you live in Alaska? If your answer to any of those questions is "yes," then you may be in the market for one of America's most popular and misused status symbols, a Sport Utility Vehicle.

dogtown.jpg
Is there any sport more closely associated with Generation X than skateboarding? Skate parks are popping up throughout the country at a growing rate, while throngs of boarders can be found in any city, square or location that has curbs, railings, hills. Today, the X Games are bigger than ever and X Game athletes are signing million dollar sponsorship deals with big name vendors. Dogtown and Z-boys is a radical documentary that details the rebirth of skateboarding and follows its rise to a level that changed the world forever, and contributed the word "extreme" to the sports culture.

Furthermore, Melanie compares the pregnancy angle to other shows that were canceled or ended shortly after a member of the cast's character had a baby.

Becoming a writer takes talent and know-how. This involves market research to discover your niche. It is then a matter of plotting, writing and editing and submitting your manuscript to publishers or agents. But success doesn't happen overnight, it takes several attempts at rewriting and some rejections later to find ‘The Right Matter'.
