Lon Schlittenhart grew up in Tucson, Arizona, with the rest of the crazy desert rats that call it home. At the age of eight, he began writing original fiction (mostly adolescent Sci-fi alien stories that went nowhere) as an outlet for his overactive imagination. By the time he entered high school, he had turned to Journalism as his main writing focus, which he kept at through his first (and only) two years of college. Lon was involved with his High School newspaper, The Palantir, the University of Wyoming's Branding Iron, and founded, and was Editor-in-Chief of, The Wyoming Freedom Monthly, the newsletter of the Wyoming Libertarian Party.
Lon also worked as a political talk show host at a Laramie, Wyoming radio station under the pseudonym "Chris Kauffman," and was the General Operations Manager of another station in Rawlins, Wyoming. During that time, he also ran for the Laramie City Council twice, losing miserably both times.
Having decide politics is not his forte, and despising most commercial radio practices and procedures, Lon now writes mostly Sci-fi, horror, and dark fiction pieces for various publications and his own edification. His short story Mad New World will be appearing in the April/May edition of Cthulhu Sex, a New York-based dark fiction/erotic horror (for lack of a better classification) magazine.
Among his other writing credits are literally thousands of commercial and sponsorship copy pieces, a Sci-fi screenplay entitled Reserructing Eden, and numerous technical documents.
