Merry Meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again!
The Tenets of Our Fellowship
Membership in our Fellowship entitles you to free use of all Yahoo features of the group: Message Board, Calendar, Links, Photo Album, Database, and Group Files. Daily holiday and commemoration information is posted to the group, and the moderator posts a semi-weekly newsletter with a variety of articles, essays, poetry, rituals, and science and religion news. Members may feel free to post items related to our group's focus as well as messages of a more personal nature. Feedback and discussion is welcome, as is humor, but keep it clean and don't be mean!
"We are one species. We are star stuff." ~ Carl Sagan
We believe in cultivating our spiritual selves and finding a sense of peace and well-being within our world. We are committed to enriching our lives and becoming our best selves through exploration of the rich history and philosophy of alternative religions, and maintaining an awareness of new discoveries of modern science. We are living in a changing world, but learning and cherishing the ways of our ancestors can help us meet the challenge of adapting to the complexities of modern life. Becoming awakened and aware can help us find solutions to ethical dilemmas posed by new developments, and living in harmony with the energies of the Earth and Heavens can help us choose healthy ways to cope with an increasingly stressful environment. Pagans of all persuasions -- Wiccans, Witches, Heathens, Native Americans, Buddhists, Secular Humanists, Spiritualists, and even Christians -- may make themselves at home in our Fellowship.
About Cat -- Catriona Lovett, Minister of Healing
Catriona Lovett, Fellowship moderator and 2nd Sight Magazine editor, is a mother of four children -- two over 21 and two still in elementary school -- and has been around the block a few times.
Cat's education and professional experience has included the areas of case management, counseling and support services, human development, psychology, ethics and practices, philosophy, and comparative religion. As an ordained Universal Life Church Minister, Cat offers a wide variety of services including pastoral counseling, spiritual guidance, and religious services. Marriage ceremonies, infant blessings, and funeral services can be personalized to embrace your beliefs and wishes.
In addition to individual and family counseling, Cat has practical and professional experience in the areas of domestic violence, abuse intervention, and other social issues. Those suffering from chronic pain and illness can learn methods of alternative self-care to promote healing and comfort, supplementing doctor's care and prescribed medications with self-management techniques.
As a long-time student of the paranormal, Cat can also offer counsel in matters of psychic phenomena and disturbances, and can perform house blessings. She's also a fair dream interpreter, with a background in Jungian psychology and archetypes.
Greetings, Fellowship,
Our fellow member, Pip Wilson, has developed a web page
of urgent interest to women everywhere who need to
learn about a rare form of breast cancer:
My mother-in-law died of breast cancer twelve years
after she had been 'cured' by a double-mastectomy that
left her unable to use her arms and hands normally. The
cancer reappeared and grew unnoticed between her lungs
and heart, and by the time they caught it she was too
weak to survive any more therapy or surgery. She was
only 60 years old when she died.
Women, check your breasts and if you're 40, get your
baseline mammogram done. Men, tell the women in your
lives -- mothers, wives, girlfriends, sisters, and
friends -- that breast cancer can be cured if it's
caught in time. The frontline of defense against breast
cancer is knowing your breasts and being aware of
changes that might indicate a problem.
Stepping off the soapbox and hoping you will check out
the web page...
Brightest blessings to all,
