Worth A Stop
The Cola Diner and Soda Museum
6060 Island Highway, Qualicum Bay, BC
If we
heard it once, we heard it ten times, ‘you have to stop at the Coca-Cola
place!” The wonderful little restaurant’s real name is the Cola
Diner and Tim says the hamburgers are worth a ferry ride to Vancouver
Island. Joe and Petra Friede call their diner a Cola Emporium, an entire early
1900’s drug store soda fountain. As soon as we spotted the diner, we were
mesmerized by red and white Coca Cola soft drink signs emblazoned on every
conceivable surface. A riot of colour and wonderful hospitality, the Cola Diner
is a fun place to stop. Just north of Qualicum Beach on Highway 19A, look for
the vintage automobiles parked outside.
