Band: The GC5
Album: Kisses From Hannoi
Label: Outsider
Year: 2000
Straight outta the "blue collar wastelands" of Cleveland, Ohio come this rocking four piece. Gravelley vocals, group chants, Chuck Berry guitar solos; you know it's street punk to the last, from the "Made with Pride in the U.S.A" on the back cover to the working class lyrics ("Carry on the banner of the working class" - 'Borrowed Time'). Reminiscent at times to the Dropkick Murphys, The GC5 are very much their own band, full of conviction and anger, yet retaining their sense of melody, much like The Bombshell Rocks. This is definately a record that should be in any punker's collection. Check it out.
Rating:8/10
