Information on the Aztec Calendar or Sun Stone:

Susana Moraleda listed two web sites (see the links page, T.B.)
with the Aztec calendar stone.
These are neat web pages, but the text is not very scholarly. There
are errors and questionable interpretations in both.  I would
not recommend these as a source of accurate information on the
sculpture.  Try these sources:

Probably the best single publication on the Calendar Stone is 
"La Piedra del Sol" by Eduardo Matos Moctezuma, published in Mexico
but in English, in 1992. It has a thorough iconographic analysis of
every feature of the stone (although not all of Moctezuma's
interpretations are universally accepted) and a great history of the
provenance and influence of the stone itself, along with the most
outstanding color illustrations and overlays. Unfortunately I do not
know how available it is in the United States, but it can certainly be
found through Interlibrary loan.

I just found a reference to a Mexican book on the Aztec Calendar Stone.
 Its title is:
