Chapter Five

Destiny pulled up into the Hanson driveway. All the cars were in the driveway. As Destiny stepped out of her car, the door swung open and a little boy bounced out.
"Mackie, get back here!" a voice hollered following the little boy.
"Geez, I didn’t know you were here," Taylor said seeing her approach him.
"Well, here I am," she said watching Taylor pick up his brother.
"Just let me get him in and tell the others," Taylor said. Destiny nodded and waited on the porch swing. A few minutes later Taylor walked out on the deck shutting the door behind him. He jiggled his keys. "Got Ike’s car tonight," he smiled heading towards the car.
Destiny giggled. "The older brother’s car huh? I don’t want to know what kind of shits gone on in here," she said as she saw a horrid look cross Taylor’s face. "I’m only kidding," she assured him.

The two climbed into the car and Taylor put on the ignition and started backing down the rocky driveway. All they could hear was the crunching of rocks from underneath the car as Taylor finally backed the car onto the street pavement. Putting the car into drive, they were off.

The ride to Taylor’s "secret suprise" was long and almost boring. The two didn’t really talk much. Destiny placed her right elbow on the passenger window and pressed her face into her palm and sighed as she looked out the window. The trees and houses whirled by quickly in a haze. Feeling hot, Destiny rolled down the window part way letting the cool night’s breeze brush her face. Suddenly she could feel the stare of Taylor. Quickly looking his way, she caught the very end of him turning his head back to face the road.

"Here we are," he said a few minutes later as he pulled into a parking lot. "Wait one second," Taylor said as he climbed out of the car slamming the door shut. He came around to Destiny’s end of the car and opened the door reaching his hand inside. "Here you are, miss," he said in a cheesy servant voice.
Destiny giggled and placed her left hand in his. "Thanks," she said. Taylor only smiled and lead her to the building only to go to the back. "Taylor…" Destiny started but Taylor hushed her with his fingers to her lips.
"Close your eyes," he instructed. She did. "Now just hang onto me and I’ll do the rest."

Destiny began to move forward with Taylor quiding her. She came to a stop a few times and made some turns. Finally they stopped completely. Destiny could hear sounds of what seemed to be an ocean or river. Curious, she hoped Taylor would let her go soon.

"Okay, stand here," he said as he pushed her forward a little more.
"Can I uncover my eyes now?" Destiny asked.
"Wait for it," Taylor said. He paused and then said, "now!"

Destiny uncovered her eyes. She was looking straight ahead at a real water fall. It was beautiful. The water rushed downward fast and hard, making a loud whooshing noise. The air smelt clean and clear. The nights wind brushed across her hair making it flow in the breeze. This was the most beautiful experience she’d had ever.

"Taylor, its beautiful," she said.
Taylor looked back at her. "Yeah it is," he said.
"Why’d you bring me here?" Destiny half yelled because of the water.
"Because I knew you’d like it," Taylor said with a smile. Destiny smiled back. "And plus, I really like you Destiny. I’ve been a fool to have hurt you the way I did."
"Yeah, it did hurt. And that night the girls and guys were at your house, I ran out crying," Destiny said. Destiny gave him a puzzled look. "What do you mean?"
"I don’t know exactly. It was like I was hurting too," he tried to explain. The wind blew through Destiny’s hair again. "I wish that wind wouldn’t blow through your hair like that," Taylor suddenly said.
"Why not?"
"Because it makes me feel funny," he said.
"Funny?" Destiny asked looking out to the water.
"Yeah, like warm inside," Taylor said. He grabbed a strand of her hair and began to play with it. Destiny closed her eyes and cherished the touch of Taylor on her. He then stopped playing with her hair and went around to her backside. Standing behind her, Taylor wrapped his arms around her waist. Destiny began to pull forward.
"Don’t," Taylor said.
"I’m scared Taylor," she said.
"Of what? Me?"
"Yes."
"Why?" Taylor asked coming around to face her.
"Because, I am. I can’t explain it," she said as a tear trickled her face. Taylor reached up to take it away. "Don’t," she said. Taylor gave her a hurt look. "I’m sorry Taylor. I really am," she said.
"Destiny, if you have any feelings for me at all, please don’t push me away like this," Taylor said almost pleading with her. "Besides, why are you scared of me?"
Destiny closed her eyes then opened them. "I’m afraid of getting to close then losing you," she said.
"That would never happen," Taylor said taking her chin and lifting her face to face him.
"How can you be so sure?"

Without saying a word, Taylor gazed into her eyes lovingly and leaned into her. Pressing his lips to hers gently, he felt feelings never before felt. It was warm and made him crave more. Not her body, but her as a person. He wanted to be with her and he wanted to treat her like no one ever had. In all honesty, he wanted to love her.

"That’s how I’m sure," Taylor said as they pulled away.
"Those feelings," Destiny said.
Taylor looked at her and nodded. "That’s how I know I’m sure," he said.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Destiny asked.
"With all my heart," Taylor said smiling at her. Destiny smiled back and they embraced. They knew what this meant and both were willing to make it work. "Come on, I’m hungry. Lets get our food," Taylor said as he put his arm around her shoulder and lead her to the front of the building.
