"I’m going out," Destiny said early Wednesday night.
"Where to?" Mrs. Faith called over her shoulder. She was hand drying dishes.
"Just around. I need thinking time," she explained.
"Don’t be late," Mrs. Faith said as Destiny ran from the house and to her car. She started it and began to back down her driveway. Things had to change…and she needed answers to why she was feeling this way.
"What are you doing here town slut?" Taylor asked opening his door.
"Taylor, cut the shit. We need to talk," Destiny said walking inside the house.
"Okay…come in," he snorted as he closed the door behind her and followed her into the livingroom.
"Where’s the crew?" she asked.
"Gone," Taylor said. He looked at her. "So, what brings you here?"
"Taylor, I’ve been thinking," she cleared her throat and looked at Taylor who just stared back blankly. "Taylor, this is really hard for me to say…"
"Don’t even tell me you like me," Taylor said sounding scared.
Destiny snorted. "No Taylor. I don’t like you," she said. He sighed. Rolling her eyes she continued. "But Taylor, seriously, you’ve made me feel something. Something really different," she said.
"What the hell do you mean?"
"I don’t know. But I’m suprised that you’re even letting me talk to you," she said.
Suddenly Destiny knew why she was acting like she was. She like Taylor. But she couldn’t, she knew. He was her enemy, he made her miserable. But oh my, he was gorgeous. She could tell the personality he had with her was not him at all. He was trying to fit in, just like she was. As if a tone of bricks hit her on her head, Destiny knew what she wanted for once…and he was right in front of her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Taylor asked shaking her.
Destiny closed her eyes and re-opened them. She blinked and stared at Taylor. "This isn’t you," she said.
"Huh?" Taylor asked.
"The way you are, the way you act, its not you Taylor. Its all an act," Destiny said. "Taylor, nothing in life scares me. But you do, Taylor. You frighten me," Destiny said softly.
"I don’t understand," Taylor said.
Destiny lifted her head so she was staring into his blue eyes. Suddenly, she was leaning into him. Without warning, she connected her mouth to his. Suprisingly, he didn’t pull away, but he didn’t kiss back. That was, until she deepened the kiss. As he kissed her back, warm feelings surrounded her. She had never felt this way before. It was magical. As the kiss ended, Destiny looked at Taylor.
"Wow," he said.
"Yeah," she agreed. She looked at him and fixed herself so she was facing him. "I know what I want. I want someone to love. Someone to love me back, and not hate me because of my past mistakes," she said.
"But I’m suppose to be your enemy," Taylor said cracking a smile.
She lightly punched his arm. "Taylor!" she squealed.
He began to tickle her on her sides. She fell to the couch in a heap of laughter. "AH! Taylor stop!" she screamed.
"Mercy! Cry mercy!" he said giggling.
"MER…C…Y!" she screamed between fits of giggles. When Taylor let go, Destiny sat up. "See Taylor, that wasn’t you before. This is the real Taylor Hanson," she said.
"I always wanted to fit in," Taylor said.
"So have I, but I’ve never made fun of people to be popular," Destiny said.
"Yeah, and now I know I was wrong about you," Taylor said blushing. "You’re really cool Destiny."
"Thanks," she said blushing herself. She looked at her watch. "Oh shit! I got to go," she said.
"All right, but why don’t we do something tomorrow?" Taylor asked casually.
"Like what?" Destiny asked as she followed him to the door.
"On second thought, lets make it Friday. Meet me here, and I’ll take you out to dinner," Taylor smiled.
"Sounds romantic," she said.
Taylor smiled warmly. "See you then," he said.
Destiny smiled back. "Okay. Friday," she said and ran out the door and down to her car. She watched as Taylor watched her leave, heading for her house.
