"What of the King Stag when the young stag is grown?"
No, I don't think that's a particularly good quote, but trust me, once you've read The Mists of Avalon, it makes a lot more sense. The plot of this book is best explained as my friend first described it to me "It's like, the story of King Arthur from the women's point of view!" Really, that's what it is. And Bradley did an awesome job with that senario...whenever I now read something like The Once and Future King, I get mad at it because it's "wrong!" (Yes, I talk to books. *Godfather voice* You got a problem with that?)
Okay, you should read this book if:
-you like Arthurian (?) Legend
-you are into witchcraft, wicca, etc.
-if you are already irritated with Christians (augh, that Gwenwyfar!!! )
-if you've read any other MZB, cause this is definitely her best work
