Reader Marianne Terrell would like to add to Eric's dioxin
piece and say that though it may be true we receive our largest dose of doixin
from our mother's breast milk, this should in no way discourage breast feeding,
the benefits of which far outweigh the risks. Infants who are breast fed
have a significantly less chance of dying from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome) and lower rates of adult cancers. Human breast milk provides
essential antibodies unavailable in formulas. In fact, Marianne wonders,
isn't it quite possible that formulas made from cow's milk and/or pesticide
treated soybeans contain even more doixin?
