MARCH OF THE GODLESS
By:TOM SMIKOSKI

On Saturday, November 2, 2002, Washington will be invaded by the godless. Obviously, this is nothing new. After all, they are already present in Congress, the Senate, and most assuredly the Supreme Court. But this November will be different. While most Americans will be thinking about the coming Christmas Season and preparing for Thanksgiving, the day we give thanks to our God for His many Blessings, thousands of godless individuals will march on our Capital.

This "Godless Americans March" is being orchestrated to halt the growth of religion in government, which they say has taken place under George Bush. They claim that America was founded as a secular nation. As a secular nation there is no place for religion in politics or government. .

I strongly disagree. America was not founded as a secular nation, but as a Christian nation. The Constitution does not guarantee the separation of Church and State. The constitution only guarantees that we will not create a state religion. We will not force people to join a Church. Our Christian Government guarantees that people of any faith are welcome and are free to worship however they want. This is true Christianity. .

Patrick Henry, one of our founding fathers and true patriots once declared,"It cannot be emphasized too strongly that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity and freedom of worship here." .

Our great Nation is a God-fearing nation who's very roots are intertwined with the New Testament, and who's laws are based on the guidelines set forth by God in the Ten Commandments. This is how our nation grew and prospered for almost two hundred years. It has only been within the past forty years or so that our nation has been steered away from religious principals and guided down the path of perdition. This guiding was accelerated during the eight years preceding Bush. .

What happened? What went wrong? What happened began in the early sixties, but had its roots in Europe two hundred years ago. While we in the New World were fighting for our freedom from England, there was a cultural revolution taking place in Europe. While we in the New World were establishing a Country based on Christian beliefs, they were tearing down churches and attempting to destroy Christianity. We were building a Christian Government, they were driving religion out of government. .

The Godless philosophy which swept across Europe became the very corner stone of the Communist Party. Lenin banned religion from Russia claiming there can be no coexistence between God and Communism. .

I believe that when Nikita Khrushchev slammed his shoe on the desk of the United Nations and shouted "We will bury you" he meant philosophically and not militarily. If that was the case, then despite the fall of Communism , they are on the verge of burying us. It was the exportation of their philosophies to our universities and young people which spread through our Country like a cancer, literally attempting to destroy us from the inside out. Our young people no longer consider the Ten Commandments or the Bible as a basis on which to consider right from wrong. Instead they believe that "whatever feels good must be right". .

This is a far cry from the beliefs of our Founding Fathers. Make no mistake, our forefathers founded this Nation on Religion. There was to be no separation between Church and State. Far from it, Church and State were to be working hand and hand. Our Constitution guaranteed it. .

Thomas Jefferson is considered by everyone to have been a strict Constitutionalist. James Madison is sometimes called the father of the Constitution. No one knew the Constitution better than these two individuals. Yet, both Jefferson and Madison, had Congress appropriate funds to help build missionary churches for the native Indians. Was there a separation of Church and State? Obviously, the writers of the Constitution were not aware of any. .

Our forefathers were very wise. They recognized the weaknesses of man. They understood that power does indeed corrupt. For this reason they established a system of checks and balances. They set up our government with three branches. The Legislative (Congress) to write the laws. The Executive (Presidency) to enforce the Laws. And Judicial (Supreme Court) to insure that the Laws were Constitutional. .

Unfortunately many in Washington no longer believe in this process. They pass laws which previously would have been ruled unconstitutional. They pass these laws for their own personal gain and not for the benefit of the Country. Many in Congress and the Senate push for immoral, unjust and unconstitutional laws for financial and political gain. .

The Supreme Court whose job it was to prevent such laws is now as guilty as very writers of the laws. The current Supreme Court no longer looks at the Constitution as originally written. It no longer looks at the thoughts and intentions of the writers. It no longer bases it's decisions on the will of the Founding Fathers. The current Supreme Court has itself become a Legislative body, re-writing the original document. .

Justice Scalia once asked, "What secret knowledge, one must wonder, is breathed into lawyers when they become Justices of this Court". He went on to say that, "day by day, case by case, The Court is busy designing a Constitution for a Country I do not recognize". .

Our original Justices used the intentions of the framers in interpreting the Law. They recognized that this Country was founded on Religious principles. An example of this recognition can be found in the words of our first Chief Justice to the Supreme Court, John Jay. "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." .

Further examples of Court rulings are as follows: .

In 1811, "Whatever strikes at the root of Christianity tends to the dessolution of civil government."

In 1844, The Supreme Court ruled that, "the Bible and especially the New Testament be taught in our public schools and its glorious principles of morality". .

In 1892, in the case of The Church of the Holy Trinity vs The United States, the Court ruled, "Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon the teachings of the Redeemer of Mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent, our civil laws and our institutions are emphatically Christian….this is a religious people…this is a Christian Nation." .

The interpretation of the Constitution, claiming that we are a Christian Nation, continued from the founding of our Nation, throughout the nineteenth century, and even well into the twentieth century: .

In 1952, The United States Supreme Court ruled:, "We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose a Supreme Being…When the State encourages religious instruction or cooperates with religious authorities…it follows in the best of our traditions. It then respects the religious nature of our people and accommodates the public service to their spiritual needs. To hold that it may not would be to find in our constitution a requirement that the Government show a callous indifference to religious groups. That would be preferring those who believe in no religion over those who do believe.. We find no Constitutional requirement which makes it necessary for government to be hostile to religion and to throw its weight against efforts to widen the effective scope of religious influence".

This last ruling is very interesting because it goes against current beliefs. Today we are constantly being told that religion has no place in Government. Yet, isn't that showing a "callous indifference" and favoritism towards "those who believe in no religion over those who do believe." .

In 1954, Chief Justice Earl Warren, of a very liberal court, said, "I believe that no one can read the history of our country without realizing the Good Book and the Spirit of the Saviour Jesus Christ from the beginning have been our guide and our genius".

No single essay could ever list the many statements from our Founding Fathers, nor the many Supreme Court rulings to show the connection between the United States of America and Christianity. There are volumes of books and essays which describe this relationship. Yet, the Godless deny any connection. .

Religion has been removed from the classrooms. The very mention of God or Christianity are forbidden. The History books are being re-written with any mention of God edited out and discarded. It is no wonder that our children are growing up believing what they believe. They are being deprived of some very basic fundamental truths about the beginning of our Country. .

This November the Godless will march on Washington. This is their Constitutional right. According to Patrick Henry they have that right because we are a Christian Nation founded on, "the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this reason peoples of other faiths (even those without Faith) have been afforded asylum, prosperity and freedom of worship here." .

However, they are marching to remove religion from Government. This cannot be permitted. We must continue to pray for our Government, our leaders and our Country. We must continue to elect politicians who are pro-religion. We must continue to keep our Country as "one Nation under God". .

We must bring back into Government prayer, morality and the Ten Commandments. We must remove evil godless individuals from congress, the Senate, Supreme Court and all areas of Government. We must do these things and do then quickly before it is too late. .

The best way to accomplish these things is through prayer. For our God is a powerful God and He will act if we ask Him. So pray, pray and pray some more. Pray unceasingly

God Bless
