HILLARY - SEEING GHOSTS?

Once again gossip columnists jumped with joy regarding disclosures coming out of Washington. The current bonanza involves Our First Lady holding conversations with the dead. Obviously, we no longer stand a ghost of a chance of getting through a supermarket checkout without staring at all sorts of wierd headlines regarding spiritual occurrences in the White House.

I have to admit, I too. was appalled at the very idea of Hillary Clinton talking to Eleanore Roosevelt. The very thought of the oval office being transformed into a seance room made me shudder. I visualized the President's desk covered with a white table cloth. The phone being replaced by a crystal ball. The lights being dimmed. And the President's family staring in amazement as the desk lifted several inches off the ground. I pictured a fortune teller repeating the words of the late Eleanore Roosevelt, and later offering to conjure up the spirit of some long lost relative for an additional 20 bucks.

I, like most Americans, was quite relieved to learn that there was no seance, and our First Lady did not actually speak to Eleanore Roosevelt. In fact, my spirits were lifted, when I learned that she actually took part i n a self improvement exercise. This after all was the first time in decades that I have heard of anyone even remotely connected with the Presidency admitting to needing improvement. Most politicians believe they know it all.

The exercise, as I understand it, was to imagine a conversation with Eleanore Roosevelt. During this exercise, she was to try to figure out how Eleanore Roosevelt would act, or react, to the problems currently facing the Nation. She tried to determine what, if any, advice Eleanore would give to Franklin, if they were in power today.

This is a very noble endeavor. Many great leaders and many successful individuals use this technique. They try to determine how an individual they greatly admire would react given the same set of circumstances. What would that individual do if he, or she, were alive today? Hillary Clinton should be applauded for her efforts.

I firmly believe that our First Lady should now go one step further. Hillary Clinton should now try a conversation with Jesus Christ. She should try asking Him for advice. Unlike the exercise using Eleanore Roosevelt, our First Lady might actually get some answers.

She should try a role play with Jesus in the White House. What would Jesus do? How would He act? How would He combat the rapid decline in morality? How would He fight the increase in violence? How would He handle the abortion i ssue? What would Jesus do if He were running the United States?

Hillary should then encourage her husband to try the same exercise. Then the cabinet. Then Congress. And finally the Supreme Court Justices.

Wouldn't life in the United States, for that matter, the entire World, be much better if our leaders used Christ as their Role Model? What a beautiful World this would be if our leaders would only talk to Jesus instead of deceased humans.
