1. Please tell the readers about the band. When it was formed, the line-up, releases and stuff like that.
YX: Stormrider was founded in February -99 by YX and Strampan and has since then recorded three demos: "Born Of Chaos" -99, "God Is Dead" -00 and "Into Battle" -01.
The current line-up is:
YX - Vocals
Strampan - Guitar
Henrik Larsén - Guitar
Morgan Ramstedt - Bass
Kristoffer Ahlberg - Drums
2. How would you describe your music? What are your musical influences?
YX & Strampan: We play Metal, simply put and are influenced by Metal in General.
3. What inspires you lyrically? What topics do the lyrics deal with?
YX: Most lyrics are written based on the current emotional state I'm in. The topics range pretty much cause of that. All extreme emotions are the biggest influence, everything from hatred to the deepest despair.
4. What is the main purpose of your music? Any political/religious message?
YX: The main purpose is the music in itself, of course get drunk as hell and free beer when you are playing a gig as well!
Strampan: Gigs and beer. (Can't say anything else, my girlfriend might read this!)
5. What about live shows? Have you played any gigs lately? How often do you play live?
YX: We haven't been playing live as much as we have wanted due to problems with the line-up. We did our last gig in November -02. The first show with this line-up is planned 26th of april, and we are still talking about a few other gigs this spring with some people.
6. How is the metal scene in your area? Are you in contact with other bands?
YX: The scene in Stockholm is lousy when it comes to places to play live if you are not a major band. But I think we have many decent bands, both major and underground. We don't have much contact with other bands in Stockholm.
7. Is anybody in your band involved in other projects? If yes, who and which?
YX & Strampan: No one in Stormrider are involved in any other projects at the moment.
8. What is the best CD / demo you have heard in the last month?
YX: The Forsaken - Manifest Of Hate.
Strampan: Vomitory - Revelation Nausea
9. What was the last concert you went to? What was the best concert you have been at?
YX & Strampan: Arch Enemy and the best must have been some Iron Maiden gig.
10. What kind of beverage is your favorite? Any special brands? Do you do any drugs?
YX & Strampan: We mostly drink beer and the two best are Carlsberg Export and Falcon Bayerskt. Moonshine and whisky (single malt) are also damn good. No one in the band use any other drugs then alcohol and nicotin.
11. What can really piss you off?
YX & Strampan: Christian fanatics and stupid fucks like that. People should learn how to shut up and not trying to tell others how they should live their lives. Of course, all
Trend-Posing-Motherfuckers should die very painfully.
12. What are you plans for the future? Gigs, releases and so on.
YX & Strampan: Get drunk as hell (we are still looking for a beer-sponsor) and look for some gigs to get even more drunk at. Our debut-album, "First Battle Won", should also be out in late April or early May.
