1. Please tell the readers about the band. When it was formed, the line-up, releases and stuff like that.
Fornication started activities in 1996, we've released a reh demo in 1997
called "Eternal Sufferance", a demo tape in 1998 called "Elegy To Forgotten Soul" and finally in 2002 we recorded our debut full length, that was released by Black Hole Productions last month (mar/2003)
( Blackholeprod ). We also recorded a cover version to
"Regurgitated Guts" from mighty DEATH for a tribute CD released by spanish label Mondongo Canibale Records . Today line-up is Gerson(g), Elcio(v) and Hernan(b). We're looking for a drummer now, we are in contact with someones and soon Fornication line-up will be complete.
2. How would you describe your music? What are your musical influences?
I think is brutal death metal as we have influences from all death metal
scene since 90's.
3. What inspires you lyrically? What topics do the lyrics deal with?
Aversion to religion, atheism and other topics related.
4. What is the main purpose of your music? Any political/religious message?
We write about aversion to religion and atheism but it's our personnal
points of view. We don't like to spread any message for our listeners. We
just like to play extreme death metal and listen to other good brutal bands around the globe. It's the main purpose, we're not preachers.
5. What about live shows? Have you played any gigs lately? How often do you play live?
We are without a drummer since nov/2002, so we are testing a lot of
drummers last months. We'll be playing live shows as soon as we get a
drummer. Keep informed about our news in our site.
6. How is the metal scene in your area? Are you in contact with other bands?
Yes, we have contact with a lot of bands from all metal genres, most from
our area. Imperious Malevolence, Scorner, Headhunter DC, Necroterio, Insane Devotion and a lot of other good bands. Our metal scene are growing up fast,all gigs seems more professional than some years ago and a lot of european and north american bands are coming here to play like Deeds of Flesh,Incantation, Monstrosity, Hate Eternal, Total Fucking Destruction (this guys are crazy!), Pandemia, Vader and others will come. I think the extreme metal scene is nice here, but today melodic and gothic shit have more audiences in Brazil.
7. Is anybody in your band involved in other projects? If yes, who and which?
Yes me (g) and Hernan (b) play in a grindcore band called Horrific
Disturbance, with Emerson that plays drums on Necroterio. We haven't record any stuff yet.
8. What is the best CD / demo you have heard in the last month?
ARE YOU GOD "O EP Espelho da Carne" mcd, a cool brazilian deathgrind band. Try to check out this good stuff.
9. What was the last concert you went to? What was the best concert you have been at?
The last concert I went to was with TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION (EUA) +
NECROTERIO (BR) + VOMITATION (BR) + HORRIFIC DISTURBANCE (BR - I play
guitars on this one!). Well, the best concert I went to was when Incantation came to my town in 2001, a furious and blasphemous show for sure!!!!
10. What kind of beverage is your favorite? Any special brands? Do you do any drugs?
Beer!! Beer forever!!! But other alcoholic drinks are welcome! Drugs only
my daily fucking cancerous cigarettes! Some marijuana in the past but I'm
not smoking it anymore.
11. What can really piss you off?
One day without listen to any metal stuff!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
12. What are you plans for the future? Gigs, releases and so on.
Now it's time to let all death maniacs know that our debut cd are
available!! We have to find a drummer too,,, and after this we plan to
compose our 2nd album and play a lot of gigs!
