1. Please tell the readers about the band. When it was formed, the line-up, releases and stuff like that.
We are Apocalyptic Raids, we play in this specific band since 97, but we have been playing since 85.
Me, Leon 'Necromaniac' on guitar & vocals, and Gustavo 'Adrameleck', drums, formed the band.
The current bass player is A. Aguinaga 'Sub Umbra'. We did a demo-rehearsal and a live VHS in 99, and
now our first CD Only Death is Real is out on Demise Records.
2. How would you describe your music? What are your musical influences?
Old School Death Metal. Hellhammer, Bathory, early Sodom, Venom, Possessed, Mutilator (BR), are just
some influences.
3. What inspires you lyrically? What topics do the lyrics deal with?
We sing about Satanism, Paganism, Barbarism, and Metal.
4. What is the main purpose of your music? Any political/religious message?
Yes. Let's cut this crap of not being political. It's impossible not to be political. We are for
the traditions of Heavy Metal, the cult essence of our music and way of live. As for religions
and political systems, fuck them all with rage!
5. What about live shows? Have you played any gigs lately? How often do you play live?
We don't play live a lot, because we don't play any crap gig. We want to sound right, and it
doesn't occurs to often here in Brazil. We have opened the first Krisiun gig here in Rio in
December 2000.
6. How is the metal scene in your area? Are you in contact with other bands?
Yes, there is a rebirth of the traditions here...Veterans Nocturnal Worshipper, and upcoming Kabarah
and Farscape are some good bands from Rio.
7. Is anybody in your band involved in other projects? If yes, who and which?
Sub Umbra plays on Poeticus Severus, a very unique band, with some tenor style of singing.
8. What is the best cd / demo you have heard in the last month?
Kabarah - Magnificent Art of War.
9. What was the last concert you went to? What was the best concert you have been at?
Shit, last concert I went was when we opened the Krisiun gig... The best concert was Judas Priest,
Rock in Rio 2.
10. What kind of beverage is your favourite? Any special brands? Do you do any drugs?
Beer is ok, Skol or Bohemia (nice brazilian brands). I rarely smoke some pot, heavy stuff is shit.
11. What can really piss you off?
Liars.
12. What are you plans for the future? Gigs, releases and so on.
This year we will be concentrated on gigs and spreading our CD, maybe at the end of the year
we will go to studio for the second one. We have 8 unreleased songs already.
