| The alarm
began to buzz. "Stay there- do not come back towards the fence from which you came in." As both sides began to close I realized that I would have been druged down the train tracks as the train passed. I heard a cry out in the night- "No!". "They're all gone- but there appears to be an orangey glow all over the place. And it is hot. I'm afraid that the fever that you helped get down is back." "I am lieing down on the bed I find I can look down the hall and see a light. But there is a heat on the palm of my hand- and I can't get it down." "Oh- I am coming to. I am alone. They have left me alone. But I am being left to burn to death. I can't see anything but the orange glow. The smoke alarm is going off. I think it's the smoke alarm anyway." "Thank you for all that you did to bring the fever down. I really thought I would last the night. But I'm afraid they have left me to die. I'm not supposed to live the night. They are all gone and I can barely hear you. I am begining to loose consciencious. Goodbye." As the train finished going by- the gates automatically opened. I left- there was little point in remaining there. next |
