NEW LIFE
Chapter 1-moving in.
Sapphire got out of the car and looked around. Not a bad neighborhood she thought could be a lot worse. She looked up the street to see if the Realtor was in sight yet, nothing. Great she mutters! Been driving for two days, I'm hot, tired, and thirsty and as if that wasn't enough, the others would be coming in behind her soon. She would prefer to be done with everything by then. Experience had taught her Realtors were nosy and she didn't want to deal with it now. Thank God she had the cash to pay the lady and be done with it. Hopefully that would cut all the trouble down substantially.

She sighs heavily and turns around to lean against the car. Across the street she notices a small café style place. After a few minutes, she decides to walk over and get something to drink. As she approaches the counter, she notices there is a dark black hared brown eyed girl working the counter. In the back she sees a very large man with his back to the counter. Very intimidating she thinks, but for some reason, he intrigues her. She can almost smell the sweat from his body. His presence seems to envelop her. After a second she realizes the young girl was speaking to her. Sapphire blushes a little and says, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that?" The young girl smiles and says, that's okay, my brother has that effect on everyone." Sapphire glances up and noticed he has turned and is looking at the two young women just as she asks what she can get for Sapphire. Just a coke I think Sapphire tells the girl. You got it she answers and turns to get the coke. She shoots a curious pair of eyes at her brother, and out of the corner of her eye, Sapphire sees him nod his head slightly. Walking back to the counter, the young girl says, you must be new here, Never seen you before. Sapphire nods her head and replies yes, I'm buying the house across the street. Wow, the young girl says, so we're going to be neighbors. Well, in that case, my name is Meah. I don't really get out much with out Dom the body guard or his puppies, but if you're interested, we can ditch him one night and I'll show you around Sapphire smiles and introduces her self and says she'd very much like that. The curiosity getting the best of her, Sapphire asks, exactly who is Dom so I know whom to run from? I am booms a voice behind her and she nearly jumps out of the chair. Meah begins to laugh as Sapphire turns to see the guy that had been sitting in the back. Surprised that she never heard or saw him move, she turns to face him. His voice boomed and vibrated through her as he extended a hand and says, "Dominique Torretto, nice to meet you." Sapphire shook his hand and says, "Nice to meet you too, I'm Sapphire LeBlanc. If you don't mind, could you do me a favor Mr. Torretto?" Surprised by the girl's courage, he replies, "Dom, not Mr. Torretto, and what can I do for you?" Smiling, Sapphire says, "could you please warn me next time you're going to sneak up on me with that voice. I don't think I could take many more scares like that." Dominique begins to laugh and looks over toward Meah, he notices her eyes shift downwards. Suddenly he realizes to his shock, he's still holding her hand. A little shocked he slowly releases her hand wondering why he had continued to hold it. Hearing a car door, Sapphire glances around the very large Dom and sees the Realtor standing by her car. Sighing with relief, soon this would be over and the Realtor gone. She stands up and says, "please excuse me, I need to get this out of the way before the others get here and I have to answer a million questions." Sure Dom says stepping aside. Watch it, , they can be ruthless around here. Smiling Sapphire says, no problem, dealt with worse, and heads over to meet the Realtor.

A short while later, Sapphire is standing in the living room of her new house as the lights come on, and the air conditioner kicks on. Sapphire sighs wondering what is keeping the others as she decides she needs another coke. But first, she needs to change clothes. She goes into her room where she had carried her bags, and picks out a pair of blue jeans shorts and a green tank top. Having changed quickly, she heads across the street again. As she approaches the counter, she notices Dom is no longer sitting in the back. Meah notices she glanced that way, and says, "He's out back at the garage, that man's obsession with his cars is matched only by his size. "Sapphire smiled understanding her meaning completely. She had the same obsession. Meah curiously asks, "So how did you get that hot car?" Sapphire smiles and says, actually I built her. Great stress reliever. In fact there are five more on the way. I built each and every one. Smiling, Meah rolls her eyes slightly and jokingly says, "Great another car freak among us." Sapphire nods her head thinking, "LOYALTY, TRUST, FEAR, SPEED," HE STREET RACERS CREED.

Realizing Meah is talking to her, she pulls herself back to reality. "Who did the paint job? That's a really odd design." Sapphire laughs and answers "I did, I actually enjoy painting them more than building them. Guess I'd prefer paint in my hair rather than grease on my hands." You and Dom should get along wonderfully. He loves to build them, but wines about doing the painting. He definitely doesn't like the detail work. Just goes and picks out decals. Says it's much easier. Meah tells Sapphire.

A voice booms and Meah jumping slightly says, " Oh boy! Who did what this time?" Sterling shrugs her shoulders just as Dom walks around the corner telling some young guy "this is the part I hate. Takes to long to do all the painting. Could be building another car in the time it takes to do this shit." Dominique looks up and a strange look passes across his face as he sees Sapphire sitting at the counter again. Noticing the look, Meah and the guy, that Sapphire was soon to find out was Jesse, exchange a knowing glance. Meah thinks to herself, Oh boy, here we go again. Remembering all Dom's obsessions from the past. Just hope this one works. I actually like her. Just as Dom was about to speak to Sapphire, the sound of racing engines fills the air. They all look up to see where the sound is coming from and a smile crosses Sapphire's face. Laughing she says, "It's about Damn time." They all look at her curiously as the cars fly up the street and stop with breaks squealing. She laughs and says, "I've got to teach them how to stop rite. One of these days I'll get around to it." She gets some curious glances from the three behind her as she walks toward the new cars. Sapphire is quickly grabbed by two of the occupants of the cars. After the greetings and small talk Sapphire remembers the Torrettos, and Jesse. Turning around she notices they are all standing right where she left them watching the proceedings curiously. Looking at Dom, she notices he is checking out the cars, and for some reason, this annoys and pleases her at the same time. She turns and tells the five girls to move the vehicles to the side of the road and emphasizes carefully. That done, they walk back across the street for introductions to the new neighbors. With that out of the way, Dom turns to her and says, there's something I want to show you if you're interested. I won't go into detail, but if you're up to it, I'll pick you up at 11:00." Sapphire is a little shocked, but readily agrees, and heads off to get the others settled and fed. As the time ticks away, she finds she'' getting more and more excited about the outing with Dom. Sapphire finds this a little odd being that she has never been one to go out. Especially on dates, and she's never felt this excited about spending time with anyone, she's mostly a loner.

Chapter 2—The Race Experience

At 10:55 she hear a car start and guessed it was Dom, she heard the car moving. Must be pulling out the car. She began down the stairs just as Dom knocked on the door. Sapphire opened the door and was stunned by his appearance. Dom was dressed in black jeans, and a black muscle shirt. In the drive sat a beautiful black Viper, Dom smiles at her and says, "ready?" Sapphire nods and they head out the door. In the car, Sapphire asks where they are going. Dom just looks at her and smiles. A short time later, they turn onto a road where cars lined both sides of the road. They were magnificent, pure power and muscle. Dom watched her face as he and the rest of the team took their places in line. Dom gets out of the car and walks around to open her car door for her. The rest of the team is standing back watching with curiosity as they realize there is someone in the car with Dom and it isn't Meah, Dom never did this for her. They were all shocked when he reached down to help her from the car. "Who ever she is, she's got Dom wrapped." Vince tells the other two men. Immediately he walks her over to the rear of the car and introduces her to the two new men, Vince and Leon. With that out of the way, he turns to issue the challenge to any driver willing to take the risk. Three drivers accept, bets are placed and they prepare to move to the actual race location. Dom calls Sapphire and puts her back into the car. As they head for the race location, Dom tells her that when they get there he thinks it would be best if she gets out and waits with Jesse. "If I had thought about it, I would have put you in the car with Leon. The farther you are from the actual race, the safer you are." Sapphire looks at him a little confused and replies, "Okay, now I'm lost. You wanted me to come here with you, but you don't want me to be here, so which is it?" "I wanted to spend time with you, I didn't think about the fact that I may be putting you in danger. All I could think about is I wanted you near." Dom explains. Sapphire is at lose for words, she just looked at him. They pulled up and stopped, and as Sapphire went to get out of the car, Dom grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. "Be careful and watch for cops, if they show get to Leon, He'll get you home. I'll be there as soon as I can to make sure you're okay." Sapphire nods her head and tries to get out of the car, but again Dom stops her. He places his hand on the back of her neck and pulls her to him kissing her passionately. Sapphire leans in and returns his kiss, feeling a sense of safety wash over her. The revving engines break through, and Dom ends the kiss and tells her "Be careful, okay?" "I promise she replies as she gets out of the car.

Sapphire walks toward Jesse just as Leon comes over the radio and says it's a go, no cops in the area. Only a few short seconds later, the engines kick up loudly as tires squeal and the race begins and is almost instantly over. Dom once again has won. The drivers return to the starting point and Sapphire watches as Dom steps from the car and is attacked by a beautiful blonde who is determined to be with Dom regardless of the fact that he doesn't appear to want her. Dom surveys the crowd looking for someone and Sapphire is shocked when she realizes his gaze has settled on her, and a look of what, relief? Passes over his face. Dom quickly closes the distance between them and sweeps her up into his strong, caressing arms. He gives her a warm smile, then kisses her passionately as everyone around them begins to cheer.

Jesse running up pushes the small radio used for communication among the team at Dom, and they all hear "cops, we've got cops everywhere! Dom get out of there." As Dom turns to his car with Sapphire in tow, she hears a loud rumble and is shocked to realize it was Dom who shouted simply "Move!" at all the fellow racers and fans. Sapphire is amazed how quickly everyone follows Dom's order with no question of why. In seconds Dom is in the car and putting her to the other side of the car while starting the engine. As he begins to move, he notices the shocked expression on Sapphire's face and realizes he was more than a little rough with her. "I'm sorry baby, but we've got to get out of here. If they catch us they're not going to be too nice." He apologizes. Sapphire smiles and places a hand on Don's arm and says, "It's all right, I understand just shocked me as to how fast everyone cleared out." Dom just laughed softly and flew like hell to get them safely away from the police. Turning down the road headed to his house and garage. Sapphire notices Dom relax slightly. When Dom glances down, she realizes that her hand is still resting on Dom's arm. He slides his arm back and reaches to hold her hand as he slows to turn the car into the garage. Once the garage is shut up again, She can tell that Dom is relieved and he's relaxed somewhat. He disappears into his office, and Sapphire turns to look at the car waiting for a paint job. She jumps slightly as a pair of strong arms wraps around her pulling her into the safety and warmth of a huge strong body. She doesn't even have to turn to know it's him. That was an already very familiar and comfortable embrace. Amazing she thinks, I wonder why I already feel so safe and comfortable with him. "You okay?" Asks Dom. Sapphire nods and says "you just startled me a little, didn't hear you come back in. Guess I was paying to much attention to that car." "Hmmmm… If you don't watch it, I may get jealous." He jokes. "Why is that?' Sapphire laughs at the idea of Dom being a jealous man. A protector, and body guard yes, but Jealous? "I want all of your attention to myself, no distractions." Dom whispers into her ear. "Hum, now what would we do with only each other for a distraction?" Sapphire asks feeling an unfamiliar need forming. "Huh, lets see, the possibilities are endless." Dom whispers huskily, slowly moving his mouth toward he neck. As he lightly bites and kisses the side of her neck, Sapphire moans softly thinking * OH GOD, what's happening to me? * Sapphire turns in Dom's arms to face him giving him her undivided attention the unfinished car long forgotten. Dom looks into her eyes and leans to kiss her. The slow passionate kiss gets deeper and awakens a new since of desire in her. A passion she did not know she possessed begins to overtake her. After what seems like an eternity, the two come up for air and Sapphire suddenly feels extremely weak. She leans her head against Dom as he pulls her closer and wraps his arms protectively around her. He feels her tremble against him, and concerned asks, "Hey baby, you okay?" Sapphire can hear the passion in his voice. Lifting her head to look in his eyes, she sees the flames of desire in her own eyes mirrored in his. "Not actually worried, just thought you need to know. Dom, I'm a virgin." She tells him nervously watching his reaction. To her surprise, he isn't shocked or even upset. He gently pulls her tightly against him wrapping her in his arms once again and gently kisses the top of her head. He doesn't speak, and after a few minutes, Sapphire becomes nervous. Voice shaking slightly, she asks, "Dom are you upset?" "Now why would I be upset? That's every mans dream to have a woman that is pure and completely his. I'm not upset at all. Dom chuckles seeing the look on her face. "Believe me, it's not easy for me either, and I can't believe I just said that. "Sapphire begins to protest as Dom kisses her softly. "Just a little while, any second we are going to have lots of company and I don't want them waltzing back here and seeing me making love to you. Besides it's your first time, I would rather take you to my bed than do it here in my dirty garage. Just be patient Baby. I promise it'll be worth it." Realizing Dom wasn't backing out, only postponing the rondeveaux, Sapphire agrees to wait. Dom smiles at her and turns toward the door. Just as they walk out the door, the sounds of engines fill the air and head lights flash as they pull up and park. Dom bends down and whispers, "see, they are so predictable." Feeling the goose bumps cover the back of her neck, she nudges Dom in the side and says, "If you keep doing that, I'm gonna rape you way before you manage to run everyone off." Walking with his arm around her toward the house, he says, "I don't know about that, bet you I can run them off or completely forget they're here in about 20 minutes." "Oh really and what are the stakes for this bet?" Sapphire asks jokingly. Dom thinks a moment and says, "If you win, you get to do what ever you want with me. If I win, you spend the night with me. All night and I get to do anything I want with you." Grinning Sapphire replies, "You have a deal Mr. Torretto." Dom glances down at her and says, "One more Mr. Torretto out of you, and you're going to be in over your head sweet heart." Sapphire just looks up at Dom, bats her eyes, and smiles at him.

Everyone piles into the living room and the stereo is kicked up into high as the beers are passed out, and the partying begins. After about ten minutes, Dom says to everyone, "Either you guys can leave or plug your ears, don't care which, but I've got some business to take care of." Dom stands and reaches down to pull Sapphire to her feet. Taking her hand, he heads for the stairs as everyone in the house begins to whistle and holler. As Dom and Sapphire walk past Mia, she tells Sapphire, "if he gets out of line, just smack him real good." Sapphire just winks at Mia and says, "No problem there, I will be glad to." Dom just growls at both girls and pulls Sapphire along behind him. As Dom reaches the stairs, he turns and lifts Sapphire easily. Taking her off guard, she squeals. She places her arms around Dom's neck trembling slightly at the thoughts of what is to come. Dom notices her trembling and kisses the top of her head gently to reassure her. He walks down the hall with her to his room and sets her down and opens the door. He turns to her and gently pulls her into his arms kissing her softly. Sapphire looks up into his eyes and sees the desire and passion reignite. She gently pushes against him indicating for him to go into the room while keeping eye contact with him. Dom doesn't reply, just gets up and goes to the bedroom door closing and locking it to ensure privacy.

Turning back toward the bed, Dom pulls his shirt off. Sapphire gasps at the sight of his huge chest. Seeing him with a shirt on, just did not do him justice. He throws a shirt at her and tells her to put it on as he pulls on a pair of lightweight pants. As Dom turns to open the door, Sapphire stands and pulls the shirt down. She follows Dom out and sees a little of the panic fade as Mia sees her coming through the door. Dom crosses the living room running into Brian and Jesse and the three of them head out to try to get the girls out and see what they can do about the fire. Mia tries to keep her from going outside, but seeing the fear and panic on her face, she finally lets Sapphire pass her and go to see if there is anything she can do. Sapphire holds her breath as she sees Dom carrying one of the girls out of the burning house, and notices that two more are already on the side walk with Jesse. Brian comes out a few minutes later carrying another one that only left one in the house somewhere. Dom and Brian pause for only a second to get a good breath before they both go back in the house to find the other sister. A few minutes passed, but it seemed like an eternity. Finally just as Sapphire and Mia were about to go crazy, they see the two men come from the house carrying the last of the girls. As Dom set her down next to the others, Sapphire ran to Dom and threw her arms around him crying. Dom held her tightly and whispered to her comfortingly. "Thank God I insisted you stay with me. Your room is completely gone. I couldn't have handled loosing you too." He choked out. Sapphire clung to him needing his strength and comfort, then she suddenly realized it was her who was giving him strength. She felt him tremble and realized that he was crying into her hair. She turned her head so that she could kiss him and realized in that instant that this was not a one-night stand, Dom really cared about her, he needed her as much as she needed him. She kissed a tear away and whispered, "Dom, I'll never leave you, I'll be here as long as you want me." Dom just pulled her closer and held her. After what seemed like an eternity, the fire department and the ambulances arrived. They watched clutching tightly to each other as the girls were checked over and the firefighters fought to get the fire under control. When the paramedics were done with the girls and released them, Dom took all five girls and Sapphire back into the house. They found places for the five girls to sleep, then with Sapphire in tow, Dom headed for the shower to get the smoke and soot washed off of them. With the shower finished, they headed back to bed.

Dom lay down and pulled Sapphire next to him. He turned so that he could tuck her body next to his. He lay there holding her and fighting back all the pain that the realization that he could have lost her had brought back to him. Feeling his struggle for control, Sapphire turned over a wrapped her arms around him. Gently she kissed his eyes and his cheeks. There was a strangled sound as he pulled her even closer and burying his face in her neck, he began to cry letting go of all the pain and heart-ache he had dealt with in the two years since Letty's death. As he cried, Sapphire silently held him knowing that when he was ready, he'd tell her everything. Right now what he needed was for her to be strong and trust him. And to her surprise, she did. For the first time in almost 15 years, she actually trusted someone. After a while, he kissed her and apologized saying, "All I could see was you in that fire. Loosing you just like I lost Letty. I couldn't have survived having my heart ripped out again. It wasn't until I saw you standing there with all the trust and love so clear on your face that I realized the dream I had earlier about Letty, that was her way of telling me that I had been given another chance. I won't loose you, ever. I love you Sapphire." Totally blown away, Sapphire felt the tears begin to fall. She couldn't believe that the love she felt in her heart for him was the same that he was feeling for her. When the tears finally passed, "she looked at him with her eyes full of emotion and said, "I love you too Dom. And you can count on being stuck with me until you run me off."

With that said, they both settled down for the night knowing that each would be the others savior, that finally, they would be whole. Nothing could stop them as long as they had one another. Tonight was the start of a NEW LIFE for the two of them.
