Sun and Shadow

*** This is written to this guy I usde to work with and had a major crush on; but then, if you're reading this, you more than likely know me and know who. It is the best love poem I've ever written, in my opinion. I like the reverse mirroring of the first poem in the second.***

Sun


rays of sunlight
wrapped and tangled in your hair
highlight the delicate,
sexy intricacy
or evey sweet curl
then flow down
into the one,
perfect drop
that slowly threads its way
down your strong back and legs
my eyes leisurely trace its path
enjoying the smooth curves
ripples of muscles like waves
then flow upwards
to meet -  yours!!!
startled/embarassed
a shock like electricity, lightning
they say, is drawn to the water
and if you are lightning,
the center of this perfect storm,
then I am surely the ocean.




Shadow



i lie on my bed
thoughts of deeds
and the doings of the day
flowing through my head
(surely i am the ocean)
thoughts, of course,
mostly of you
(the center of this perfect storm)
i am still picturing you in my head
that moment in which
you were Adonis
framed in sunlight
(you are lightning)
it is not good i know
but i cannot stop
thinking, wondering
what can i do to make this happen?
(drawn to the water)
what is the perfect word
the perfect way to look
the perfect deed to show
who i am
and my worth,
to dazzle you
(a shock like electricity, lightning)
i wander through that room
time and time again
wondering at that moment's import
(startled/embarrassed)
your eyes
penetrating my soul
and what did you see there?
(ripples of muscles like waves)
did my eyes reveal to you
all of my idle lusts
and daydreams of the moment?
(enjoying the smooth lines)
or were they professionally closed
and unreadable enough
to preserve the thin, cold shell of my dignity?
(eyes slowly trace the path)
i cannot think
the clearness of your eyes
has clouded my mind
(strong back and legs)
to everything but that
little smile,
the eyes nose mouth
face of an angel
that i could draw,
have drawn
a thousand times in dreams
yet never could capture fully
(one perfect drop)
i close my eyes
my mind drifts
but never far
(flow down)
from you 
(every sweet curl)
never long escaping
that force
(delicate, sexy intricacy)
which is perfectly natural
and perfectly divine

you have come over me
even unto dreams
