Classes

Australia's best street race is held in Portland each year over the weekend of the second Sunday in February.

For the 2002 event, Glenelg Shire Council has scheduled major pavement improvements to the road surface at Porthaul Corner and Claymac Corner making the racing better again for the drivers.

Naturally, the club is also planning a full program of associated attractions and entertainment; ensuring that the Portland event is one that you will remember fondly for years to come.

Prizes and Trophies in excess of $30,000.

The winner of the Senior Grand Prix will also join one of Ford's contracted Teams to experience a "day in the life of a V8 Supercar driver". Joining their driver on a test day - providing a unique insight into the demands of a professional racing career together with an opportunity to impress people who matter!

With only 24 places available in each class and no second divisions, karters are urged to enter as soon as possible after entries open on December 3, 2001, to avoid the disappointment of missing a place.

Classes and race order are available on the linked page. When planning multiple entries Karters should assume that the printed race order will be not be changed.

Championship classes for the 2002 event are again:

Senior Grand Prix Formula 100 (LIGHT) and

Junior Grand Prix Junior Clubman.
