General file guide by Nefarius for v1.08 and (D2X if this file is not changed again)

 

Column A Name: the name of the Difficulty in this txt file.

 

Column B ResistPenalty: how much resistance does your character loose on this difficulty.

 

Column C DeathExpPenalty: how much percent of experience do you loose when you die on the difficulty.

 

Column D UberCodeOddsNormal: what chance do you have to find a exceptional on this difficulty with a quality lesser then magic.

 

Column E UberCodeOddsGood: what chance do you have to find magic, rare, unique, set exceptional items on this difficulty.

 

Column F UltraCodeOddsNormal: what chance do you have to find elite items on this difficulty with a quality lesser then normal (requires activation of the elites in Armor and Weapons.txt by changing the version columns in there from 100 to 0 for those items).

 

Column G UltraCodeOddsGood: what chance do you have to find magic, rare, unique, set elite items on this difficulty normal (requires activation of the elites in Armor and Weapons.txt by changing the version columns in there from 100 to 0 for those items).

 

Column H MonsterSkillBonus: by how much levels does a monsters skill rise in this difficulty.

 

Column I MonsterFreezeDivisor: by how much is the freeze duration effecting monsters divided on this difficulty.

 

Column J MonsterColdDivisor: by how much is the cold duration effecting monsters divided on this difficulty.

 

Column K AiCurseDivisor: by how much is the duration of cursed effecting monsters divided on this difficulty.

 

Column L LifeStealDivisor: by how much is the amount of life you leech back from monsters divided on this difficulty.

 

Column M ManaStealDivisor: by how much is the amount of mana you leech back from monsters divided on this difficulty.

 

Column N ExtraUniqueMonsters: how many additional unique monsters (not set in the MonUMin/MonUMax columns in Levels.txt) will be added to each area in this difficulty.

 

Column O UniqueDamageBonus: how much additional damage do unique, and super unique monsters do on this difficulty (I don’t know if this also effects super unique bosses not found in SuperUniques.txt such as Diablo and Mephisto).

 

Column P ChampionDamageBonus: how much additional damage do champions do on this difficulty.

 

Column Q HirableBossDamagePercent: how much additional damage do act bosses do to hirelings.

 

Column R StaticFieldMin: not yet tested, but throughout the name it is linked to the minimum effectiveness of static field.
